The way they’ve managed to create this sophisticated salon atmosphere right in the middle of one of Amsterdam‘s busiest areas, yet it feels completely removed from the chaos outside.

I mean, you really can’t get more central than this — we’re talking about the absolute heart of Amsterdam’s city centre here. What makes this spot special isn’t just that everything’s walkable (though it definitely is), but that you’re on Nes, which locals know as this perfect little street that connects all the main action without being overrun by tour groups. The Red Light District is literally around the corner, Dam Square is a two-minute stroll, and honestly, I’ve never stayed anywhere with better access to both the cultural sites and the city’s best brown cafés.
The Space Itself
The room I stayed in had this really thoughtful design that felt more like a stylish urban apartment than a typical hotel setup. There’s something about the way they’ve done the interiors — sort of modern but with these classic touches that nod to Amsterdam’s canal house heritage. The space feels private (which makes sense given the name), and I actually found myself wanting to spend time there rather than just crash after long days of sightseeing.

Here’s the thing about Salon de Franz — it’s not trying to be everything to everyone, and that’s exactly why it works so well. The staff clearly knows the neighborhood inside and out, and they’ll point you toward spots that aren’t in every guidebook. I got some amazing restaurant recommendations that I never would have found on my own. Plus, the whole vibe is refreshingly low-key for such a prime location — no crowds in the lobby, no tour buses pulling up outside. The parking options nearby are convenient for those arriving by car.

The perfect stay. You’re spoilt for choice re; rentals in Amsterdam, but it’s hard to compare to Salon de Franz.
You can’t ask for a better location. We had a stroopwaffel making experience, a visit to Anne Franks house and a canal boat tour - all within a 25 minute walk.
Amsterdam is known for its architecture, in particular its narrow buildings and steep stairs - this accommodation is no different to any other typical Amsterdam accommodation.
What could be improved: We had a small issue with the sore lock at check-in which was addressed and fixed immediately. The host even arranged a gift to apologise which was a very nice touch. The only personal feedback we would give would be the option of more available light. But by no means is this a negative.
A beautiful, unique apartment. Luxurious but not stuffy. Very responsive host. The apartment was unique and full of character. A real gem. Beautiful old building but very comfortable. The location was excellent - right in the heart of things, while also feeling tucked away and relaxing.
What could be improved: We had a misunderstanding over facilities / expectations but the host sorted this out for us and ultimately provided excellent customer service so I have no complaints.

Super elegant, nicely appointed and perfectly situated apartment in the middle of it all! I loved the location, although it was very loud on Saturday night, we loved being in the middle of it all.
What could be improved: It would have been perfect to have an elevator available. The stairs that led up to the second room were unbelievably steep.
LUXURY APARTMENT IN AMSTERDAM We absolutely loved the location, the decor and the friendly welcoming staff who couldn't do any more to make our stay more comfortable. The bath in the bedroom was a show stopper - with the candles lit - the fire going and the blue tooth speakers hooked up with our favourite music - there wasnt a better way to spend a chilly Spring evening in Amsterdam. There is a well equipped kitchen facility with an honesty bar - a cupboard with an ironing board- hair dryer and lots of luxurious soaps - shampoos and moisturisers.
What could be improved: This isnt a dislike just an observation- the stairs are very steep - this needs to be factored in for those with mobility issues or very small children.
The most amazing accommodation in Amsterdam Coming into this vacation I believe we looked into literally every hotel in Amsterdam! A lot of them looked really great, but when I saw this I knew this is where we had to stay. It did not disappoint! From the personal check-in, to the great coffee provided, to the wood burning fireplace, there was nothing to be left for wanting.
It is quite a climb to get to the apartment (33 steps up a spiral staircase) but we were able to eat anything we wanted and we still lost 2 lb by the time we got home! By the time we left the apartment we were used to the climb and it was not anything that was a deterrent.
The eclectic Decor is like honey to the eyes. The saturated colors mixed with the Antiques and high gloss paint makes for a rich and opulent atmosphere that beckons you to stay longer than you have booked, and makes you regret having to go home.
Morshi is a wonderful and accommodating host, and made sure that our state was fantastic. We're not sure when we are going to be back in Amsterdam, but we do know where we're staying! We would definitely recommend this to anyone!
What could be improved: There was literally nothing we didn't like about the stay.
Exceptional A beautiful apartment with an exceptional decor, which will take you to "another dimension". Photography lovers will enjoy it because every corner is photogenic and looks like an opera set. We felt like aristocrats of the Rococo period. An unusual and unique experience that I highly recommend, even a little scary at times, but above all very beautiful. I will remember my visit to Amsterdam because of this apartment and will definitely stay in it again if I visit Amsterdam in the future.
Nice stay Is beautiful, different, every detail in the property makes you feel that you are living in the last century. Kitchen well equipped and the location is perfect, close to everything, just some minutes walking distance.
What could be improved: A little noisy at night, the stairs could be hard for some people, for us, wasn’t a problem, thanks to the host that took our luggage upstairs. The light system is tricky, place is kind of dark, the bathtubs are beautiful but no place to put staff around.
