First Impressions
Walking up to Bridge Inn on Brouwersgracht, you immediately understand why this four-star property has such devoted fans. The building sits right on one of Amsterdam’s most photogenic canals — honestly, I’ve seen countless tourists stop just to snap photos of the classic Dutch architecture. You’re literally in the heart of Amsterdam City Centre here, and it shows the moment you step outside. The entrance feels intimate rather than grand, which actually works perfectly for the neighborhood’s authentic vibe.
Location & Neighborhood
This is where Bridge Inn really shines, and the numbers back it up — couples rate the location 9.1 out of 10, which makes total sense once you’re here. Brouwersgracht is often called Amsterdam’s most beautiful canal, and you’re positioned perfectly to explore everything on foot. The Anne Frank House is just a few minutes’ walk away, and you can easily stroll to the Jordaan district for dinner or hit the main shopping streets without dealing with trams or bikes. I mean, you’ll probably want to rent a bike anyway because it’s Amsterdam, but it’s nice knowing you don’t have to.
The Rooms
The accommodations strike that sweet spot between historic charm and modern comfort that’s surprisingly hard to find in Amsterdam’s city center. Many rooms offer canal views — and trust me, waking up to boats gliding past your window never gets old. The spaces feel authentically Dutch without being cramped, though like most Amsterdam hotels, don’t expect American-sized rooms. What you get instead is thoughtful design that maximizes every square meter, plus those gorgeous tall windows that flood everything with natural light during the day.
Breakfast & Dining
The continental breakfast here is solid — nothing revolutionary, but it covers all the basics with fresh bread, local cheeses, and decent coffee to fuel your Amsterdam adventures. What I actually love more is how close you are to some of the city’s best breakfast spots if you want to venture out. There’s a fantastic local bakery just around the corner, and the Saturday farmers market at Noordermarkt is an easy walk when you want something special. The hotel’s location means you’re never far from great food options, whether you’re craving traditional Dutch fare or international cuisine.
Why Guests Love It
People keep coming back to Bridge Inn because it delivers exactly what you want from an Amsterdam stay — authentic canal-side living without the tourist trap feeling. The property’s excellent location score of 9.3 isn’t just marketing speak; you really can walk everywhere that matters from here. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re living in Amsterdam rather than just visiting it, especially when you’re sitting by your window in the evening watching the canal boats drift by. For couples especially, there’s something undeniably romantic about the whole setup, which explains those consistently high location ratings.

What Our Guests Say
We knew about them steep stairs so not a problem But not suited for seniors Location location location
What could be improved: No big deal but very noisy at nigh-time
Clean, no frills room in a noisy, busy location. The location was very convenient
But, also very noisy if you wanted to keep the windows open
It's located on a canal and very busy intersection
The room was very clean and comfortable
What could be improved: The stairways inside and outside are very narrow and steep
Also, I have very small feet, women's size 5 and my feet barely fit on the steps
We were only provided with two very small. thin bath towels
On the second day of our trip, housekeeping took our bath towels and left us with one hand towel!
Since there is no front desk service at the property we had to text them about the issue
They did bring our bath towels a few hours later
Quite an inconvenience since we had been walking all day. We were hot and tired and were looking forward to a shower before flying home the next morning!!
Great stay at the Bridge Inn Very comfortable and modern with a stunning view.
What could be improved: We struggled to find the property. It was also a challenge with the luggage up and down the steep stairs, especially in the rain.
Great location!!! -great location
-nice view of the canal
-large room
-nice shops, cafes and restaurants nearby
What could be improved: -pricy (over €200 per night!)
-stairs (typical in Netherlands!)
-basic toiletries
-only 1 plug socket available (or unplug the kettle, the fan, the mini fridge…)
-neighbor keep slamming the door
Lovely sunny room Beautiful light filled room with lovely views. We enjoyed sitting in the armchairs with a coffee watching the life on the street. There is an espresso machine and small fridge which is handy.
What could be improved: The stairs to access the property are extremely steep and narrow. I would not recommend to anyone with mobility issues, or if you have a lot of luggage.
It’s Amsterdam the expensive! Spending more than 120€/night for a very simple staying place might be not bad! The location was very good and less than 15 minutes to Central station. The room was clean and cozy.
What could be improved: The noise! In the midnight we have heard footsteps from the up level for about half an hour (maybe house keeping), and also, you might hear the street sounds anyhow.
It was a great stay, we enjoyed it! Comfy and beautiful! Thanks a lot to the host🫶🏻🙏🏻 The location was very good with a cafe below and incredible view from the apartment on the bridge and the canal! The host was super nice, they brought us extra toilet paper, towels and also coffee capsules for the machine. The bed was comfy and there was adjustable heating, which was very nice considering the weather in Amsterdam. There was toothpaste, toothbrushes, shower gel-shampoos, tea bags, powdered milk for coffee, sugar and even sweeteners☺️
What could be improved: The staircase was crazy, very steep and narrow, never seen anything like that, but we got used to :)) Also I would recommend to add towel hangers to the bathroom and a mat for even cosier stay☺️
Picturesque view from a comfy & central room Incredible location in the city center, with beautiful streets and channels everywhere. Groceries, restaurants, shops and the train station are all easily reachable on foot. Public transport is also very close.
Room is on the smaller side, but absolutely adequate. Bathroom facilities are fine, bed is very comfy with a beautiful view over the bridge (see the attached picture). Tea and coffee are provided by the host. Furniture and decorations are beautiful.
What could be improved: People using the common staircase can be heard quite loudly. This is not a big issue though, because people are just walking past, so the amount of time it is noticeable is usually very short.
If people are noisy in the room directly above it can also get loud, but that didn't really happen after bedtime hours.
Excellent view and location.great value the minuses were minor details Location and view!
What could be improved: No tea bags. Steep stairs. A little noisy. No light switch for bathroom. Minimal towels.
Lovely place with a great view! Quirky with the tiny staircase. Lovely room and great view. Was perfect for what I needed and a great location.
What could be improved: Nothing
