First Impressions
The Campanile Hotel & Restaurant Amsterdam Zuid-Oost sits in what locals call the Bijlmermeer — honestly, it’s not where most tourists end up, but that’s actually part of its charm. This three-star spot feels refreshingly unpretentious compared to the cramped canal-side hotels everyone fights over. The building itself is modern and straightforward, with that clean Dutch efficiency you notice right away.
Location & Getting Around
You’re about 15 minutes by metro from central Amsterdam, which sounds far but really isn’t when you consider the Alternative. The Kraaiennest metro station is practically next door, and the trains run frequently enough that you won’t be checking your watch constantly. What I really appreciated was having actual space to breathe — this part of the city has wider streets, more green areas, and you can walk around without dodging tourist crowds every few steps.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but well-designed, with everything you actually need rather than pointless extras. The bed was comfortable (firmer than typical European hotel beds, which I liked), and the bathroom had decent water pressure — something you can’t always count on in older Amsterdam buildings. There’s a small desk area that’s actually usable if you need to get work done, and the Wi-Fi was reliable throughout my stay.
Dining & Practicalities
The on-site restaurant serves solid, no-nonsense meals — think well-prepared international dishes rather than anything groundbreaking. Breakfast was better than expected, with fresh bread and decent coffee that didn’t taste like it came from a machine. There’s also free parking here, which is basically unheard of anywhere closer to the city center. If you’re driving in the Netherlands, that alone might make this place worth considering.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the kind of place you’ll be posting Instagram stories about, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. The staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than going through the motions, and the whole operation runs smoothly. For the price point, especially compared to what you’d pay for a similar room in Amsterdam’s tourist zones, it offers real value — and you get to experience a more authentic slice of how the city actually functions outside the historic center.
Hotel in Amsterdam reservations surge before tulip season, so smart travelers lock in houseboat views months ahead.

What Our Guests Say
Overall very pleased but a little expensive. Room basic but comfortable. Didn't have beakfast.
What could be improved: Ground floor directly onto road
Good for the value The view is nice . The metro only few steps from hotel . There is a nice park directly front the hotel . The shower is amazing
What could be improved: If u will open the window every one will pass front ur room will see u . The voices out the room is heared clearly
Good vibes and food, amazing staff and room, interior design chic and fun It had a very creative design with lots of interesting books, that could tell me a bit about Amsterdam, the mural was fantastic and summed up what the city was about, the room was extremely cozy and had considerable space for 3 people, the facilities were easy to use, everything was within reach, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the sweets were a nice bonus. The bathroom was amazing to use
What could be improved: The internet was slow (usable, but slow). The lights in the room were a little dim
Very good It was very clean, had everything I needed and it was close to the metro and busses. It was easy for me to get to Ziggo Dome where my purpose of the trip was!
Good location not far from Amsterdam city to overnight on business. Location - next to the Metro station - easy to travel to city
What could be improved: nothing
One night stay , fully equipped Breakfast ,
What could be improved: Could do with extra pillows in rooms
Very good comfy bed, low price
What could be improved: the room was a bit small
Recommended for visits to Amsterdam city! Great location to visit Amsterdam city!
I really enjoyed my stay I like everything about the property , where is located and how the place is quite, you have your piece of mind you stay there
What could be improved: What I didn’t like was I left my black Prada purse in my room but the time I went back to take it the receptionist told me it wasn’t there , I was really sad. It may be the cleaners so you should talk to them about it if they fine something in the room when cleaning they shouldn’t take it they should go and hand over to the receptionist
Very good Best value for the money out of all the accommodations on booking. It looks like it is far from city center, but the metro is right next to the hotel and it takes around 15 minutes to get to the centre.
What could be improved: There should be curtain in the shower to block the water from going everywhere in the bathroom. Overall that is the only complaint.
