First Impressions
Via Amsterdam sits in a quiet residential area that honestly caught me off guard — I was expecting something more touristy given the name. This apartment-style accommodation feels more like staying in a local neighborhood than your typical hotel setup. The building itself is modern and understated, which actually works in its favor since you’re not dealing with crowds of tourists coming and going all day.
Location & Getting Around
You know what’s great about Diemerhof? It’s properly residential, so you get a real sense of how people actually live in Amsterdam. The area connects easily to the city center via public transport — there’s a metro station within walking distance that’ll get you to Centraal Station in about 20 minutes. I mean, it’s not right in the heart of the canal district, but that also means you’re not paying those insane central Amsterdam prices.
The Space
The units here are set up more like serviced apartments than traditional hotel rooms, which is perfect if you’re staying more than a couple nights. Each room comes with its own kitchenette — nothing fancy, but enough to make coffee in the morning or heat up some stroopwafels from the local Albert Heijn. The furnishing is clean and functional, sort of that Scandinavian-minimal vibe that works well for this three-star setup.
Practical Stuff
There’s parking available, which honestly is a huge deal if you’re driving in Amsterdam — most places in the city center charge you a fortune just to leave your car somewhere. The wifi works fine, and the building stays pretty quiet even on weekends. They don’t have a full restaurant operation, but there’s a decent café nearby, and the kitchen setup means you’re not totally dependent on eating out for every meal.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Via Amsterdam isn’t going to wow you with fancy amenities or concierge service, but it delivers exactly what it promises. You get clean, comfortable accommodation in a real Amsterdam neighborhood without the tourist markup. The value is solid for what you pay, especially if you’re planning to explore the city rather than hang around the hotel all day. It’s the kind of place that locals would actually recommend to visiting friends — practical, honest, and properly located for getting around the Netherlands.
Early hotels booking in Amsterdam secures light festival cruises, jazz club nights, and private cheese-tasting sessions.

What Our Guests Say
Was great Cozy, friendly and clean with good view
What could be improved: A bit noisy in the lobby
Cheap & simple for enjoying Amsterdam Great helpful and friendly staff, good bar/breakfast area and entertainment facilities, location easily accessible via public transport, rooms noise insulated at all times of day
What could be improved: Very basic bunk beds without curtains, one of which had a very creaky frame that made noise through the night. Shower temperature fluctuated quite often
Good vibe The staff are welcoming
What could be improved: It’s clean and everything works well
Hotel experience in a hostel format. The shower was excellent, everything you would want / need and I was glad for that.
What could be improved: The windows didn't fully open, while not a deal breaker. It's annoying when you want to bring in a bunch of fresh air.
Very good - clean and comfortable
- nice and helpful staff
- good value for the money
What could be improved: - far from the center
Nice place over all The public places were nice
What could be improved: The bunk beds hurt my hips
Great place Modern, colorful design. Leisure zones, kitchenette, events during the week inside the hotel.
What could be improved: Don't forget to read that the parking is not free, because I missed it and was a bit surprised (12,50 eur/ day)..
Good What could be improved: we didn't have towels
Superb Having a room in a different building of the bar
It was perfect for my one night stay for a concert nearby! The room was very clean and orderly. Everyone in the room was respectful of each other. The bed was comfy and the locker was very big, so very practical to put your stuff away.
What could be improved: I had to wait an extra hour for my room since it wasn't ready, but I did get a drink voucher in exchange so it was okay.
