The three-star rating feels about right — this isn’t trying to be fancy, but everything works properly and the space is clean and functional. The Wi-Fi was solid (important for catching up on work), and the heating actually kept up with Amsterdam’s unpredictable weather. I appreciated having control over my own space rather than dealing with hotel schedules for everything. There’s no on-site restaurant, but with that kitchen setup, you’re sort of expected to figure out your own meals anyway.

Look, if you want room service and daily housekeeping, this probably isn’t your place. But if you’re planning to stay in Amsterdam for more than just a quick weekend and you want to feel less like a tourist in a hotel bubble, The Bolster makes sense.
