I mean, when they say unique accommodation, they actually mean it here — you’re sleeping in a piece of Amsterdam infrastructure that’s been lovingly transformed into something quite special. The tiny building has this quirky charm that immediately makes you forget about traditional hotel rooms.

The room is compact but incredibly thoughtful in its design. Everything has a purpose, and honestly, the views from the windows are worth the cozy quarters — you’re watching boats glide by just meters from your bed. There’s a small kitchenette that’s actually more functional than you’d expect, though don’t plan on cooking elaborate meals. The bathroom is tight (we’re talking ship cabin tight), but it works, and the whole experience feels like staying in a piece of Amsterdam history.
Location & Neighborhood
Oud-West is one of those Amsterdam neighborhoods that feels authentically local without being boring. You’ve got the Vondelpark just a short walk away, and the area has this great mix of brown cafés and newer spots that locals actually frequent. The three-star rating might seem modest, but the location more than compensates — you’re connected to the city center easily, yet tucked away from the tourist chaos of the Jordaan or Red Light District.

Superb Fantastic canal view, full furnitured apartment, comfortable bed, lovely staff, next to a tram station that’s very convenient to get the center.
What could be improved: There is no bathrobe at my closet. I was surprised cause it was mentioned at a room description
Relaxing historic stay The property is situated on the canal with amazing views on the water. It's vintage charm has been preserved and we were able to experience a little bit of history of bridge houses. The accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed. It is in a quieter area of Amsterdam which we enjoyed as we were able to have crowds free strolls along the canal.
What could be improved: Unfortunately when we arrived there were dripping sauce stains on the cupboards and some old food in the fridge. There was also no cleaning supplies - otherwise I would have cleaned it myself.
I really enjoyed this accommodation and would love to stay there again someday. Great view from the window. Cozy atmosphere. Tram stop nearby.
What could be improved: 2 points that did not really bother me, but if this is important to you, keep in mind:
1. There is a noisy bridge under the windows.
2. There are no cooking facilities (there is only a kettle).
Amazing place. The place is amazing, really nice, views are incredible, bed really comfortable. I would recommend it if you want to have a wonderful experience in Amsterdam! We really love the place ❤️
What could be improved: Everything was perfect. May be the check in at 4 is a bit late, our flight arrived at 9 in the morning so we had to walk around with the bags.
Great location out of the touristy and overcrowded part of Amsterdam. Such a unique property located right on the tram line with a working bridge. We really felt part of the neighborhood.
must visit! The bed was super comfy and check in was very easy, small issue with flexipass app but upon calling through the booking.com app we got into the property in less then 2 minutes and the lady on the phone was very kind and helpful. The tea was a homely touch. The views from the accommodation were amazing and even though we had some rain it made it even more cosy inside. The canal views were breathtaking in the morning and the area was safe and had lots of coffee shops and supermarkets all around for morning pastries and coffee. The tram was not loud or bothersome but if it would have been they provided ear plugs. This property would be great for couples as it had a very romantic feel to it. We were not cold even in minus temperatures in January because the heater was great, it kept the whole place warm. There is additional heaters in the bathroom and hall way area. Everything was clean and the mini fridge was spotless and worked well. Easy to reach the centre via the 17 or 13 tram, only 2 minutes walk from the accomodation and takes only 15/20 mins max to reach the centre. However, anything that was needed could be found in the local area. If we will return to the Netherlands we will stay in another Sweets location as opposed to a hotel, such a homely unique comfortable experience offered. Very private also and all the windows easily closed/covered.

What could be improved: The bathroom needs a sink. It felt a bit weird using the toilet and not washing your hands straight afterwards.
Great Amsterdam canal experience We loved the views from the bridge tower and the beautifully styled interior. It was such a great experience. The added bonus was watching the bridge go up and down when boats needed to pass through.
