First Impressions
Walking up to ClinkCoco on Westeinde, you’d honestly never guess what’s waiting inside from the street view. The building blends right into the historic Amsterdam streetscape, but step through those doors and you’re hit with this surprisingly modern, vibrant energy. It’s one of those places that feels like a well-kept secret — you know, the kind locals might actually hang out at rather than just another tourist trap. The interior design strikes an impressive balance between contemporary aesthetics and functional comfort.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about staying in Amsterdam City Centre — location really is everything, and this three-star spot absolutely nails it. You’re literally in the heart of everything, which means you can walk to the major museums, canals, and those famous brown cafés without dealing with trams or bikes (though honestly, you should rent a bike anyway). I mean, couples consistently rate the location nearly a 9 out of 10, and after spending time in the area, I totally get why. The Jordaan district is just a pleasant stroll away, and you’re close enough to the action but not drowning in the chaos of Damrak. Everything you need is within walking distance.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but cleverly designed — actually felt bigger than expected for Amsterdam standards. The beds are comfortable enough, and there’s decent storage space which is crucial when you’re living out of a suitcase. What I appreciated most was how quiet it stayed at night despite being so central. The Wi-Fi works well (important for those inevitable “look where I am” posts), and the shower has proper water pressure, which honestly can be hit or miss in older Amsterdam buildings. The attention to detail in the room layout makes a real difference.
Social Atmosphere
ClinkCoco has this interesting social vibe that sets it apart from typical hotels. There’s a communal area where people actually gather — not just pass through — and I ended up chatting with travelers from all over. It attracts a good mix of solo adventurers and couples, creating this relaxed atmosphere where you can be social if you want or keep to yourself. The staff seems genuinely interested in helping you discover the city rather than just checking you in and disappearing. This welcoming environment is one of the property’s greatest strengths.
Why Guests Love It
What really works here is the balance between affordability and location without sacrificing comfort. You’re getting that prime Amsterdam experience without the premium price tag of the canal-side hotels. The property consistently scores high on location reviews, and after staying there, it’s clear why — you can walk to Vondelpark, hit the museum quarter, or explore the Red Light District all within reasonable distances. It’s the kind of place where you spend your days exploring the city and come back feeling like you’ve got a proper home base, not just a place to crash. The value proposition is genuinely compelling.
Early hotels booking in Amsterdam secures light festival cruises, jazz club nights, and private cheese-tasting sessions.

What Our Guests Say
Great and friendly place for your stay in Amsterdam ! Felt just like home in the common area and the neighborhood is super nice
Good The space downstairs was very pleasant and relaxed.
Room was decorated nicely and bed was very comfy
What could be improved: When we arrived we got given a room that had not been cleaned, the staff soon helped and directed us to a new room.
There was a security problem while we were there, so one night was quite stressful due to knocking on doors and the alarm going off all night.
Great place helpful and friendly staff Lovely and clean and comfortable
Nice centrally located Hostel in Amsterdam It was very centrally located, and very close to buses and trains. The staff was nice, and the place was fairly clean, accessible, and well laid out.
What could be improved: The only thing I didn’t like about our room was that there was absolutely no space for packing and unpacking your stuff, especially if you were on the top bunk like I was. I literally had to sit on the floor in the middle of the room to unpack my things to get clothes and stuff, cause there was nowhere to sit, no chair, and no space.
Cost-efficient hostel in a nice location with some minor drawbacks The staff — I forgot to get their names, sorry!! — were all very friendly and helpful, and the common area was quite homey. And the cat was very cute. :)
What could be improved: I found all the cameras all over the place fairly off-putting. I couldn’t even enter the front door code without a camera directly in my face. I understand the need for some level of security but at some point it gets overbearing and creepy. Also, the bunk beds were all pretty creaky, which, for a four-bed room, made it a bit hard for me to sleep and/or for me get up in the middle of the night without fearing waking anyone.
Incredible service Pretty much everything.
You'll hardly find a service of this quality for this low of a price.
What could be improved: I guess the shared rooms were a bit tight, but that's to be expected in a hostel.
Superb Location was great and staff were really helpful. There's also a very friendly cat in the common area which made our stay! The rooms are themed, which is fun.
What could be improved: There's a lot of stairs, bring a backpack not a suitcase!
Very good Great staff, friendly relaxed vibe, nice kitchen and communal area, hot showers, comfy mattress and pillows
What could be improved: Bathroom in the dorm was too small to be practical, had to sit on the toilet sideways and then pivot legs around to get them under the sink,
Lovely but I wish there were curtains on the bed Cozy, in a good spot! Staff was lovely and of course the cat!
What could be improved: I wish there was room for women only. Nothing to complain except the fact that there is no curtains on the bed.
Superb Good location , good value, bathroom inside the room, a nice room for girls and a lot of space, staff very kind ...
What could be improved: Doesn't have curtains for privacy, and the stairs are very tiny so if you are in the 3 floor be prepared to do a legs routine , but the rest was so nice.
