First Impressions
Walking up to B&B La Festa on Hazenstraat, you immediately get that “I’m in the real Amsterdam” feeling. This four-star bed and breakfast sits right in the thick of things — I mean, you’re literally in Amsterdam City Centre, surrounded by those narrow canal houses and cobblestone streets that make this city so special. The building itself has that classic Dutch charm, and honestly, the location alone makes you feel like you’ve struck gold.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re not in some touristy bubble. You’re on an actual street where locals live and work, but somehow you’re still walking distance to everything that matters. The famous canals are right there, the shopping streets are a few minutes away, and you know what? Couples absolutely rave about this spot. There’s something romantic about being tucked into this neighborhood that feels both authentic and perfectly positioned. I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Amsterdam, and this location really does hit that sweet spot between local atmosphere and tourist accessibility.
The Room Experience
Let me tell you about the beds — they’re actually incredible. I’m usually pretty skeptical when places boast about their bedding, but this B&B genuinely delivers on comfort. Each room has this cozy, well-thought-out design that makes you want to linger in the mornings. The spaces aren’t huge (this is Amsterdam, after all), but they’re smartly laid out and surprisingly quiet considering you’re in the heart of the city. The attention to detail really shows, from the linens to the way everything just feels… right.
The B&B Experience
What sets La Festa apart from your typical hotel is that personal touch you get with a proper bed and breakfast. The hosts actually know the neighborhood — they’ll point you toward that little café around the corner or tell you which canal route is prettiest for an evening walk. It’s not stuffy or overly formal, just genuinely welcoming. You get that sense that someone actually cares about your stay, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re exploring a new city.
Why Guests Love It
The combination really works here — you’ve got that intimate B&B atmosphere with solid four-star comfort, all wrapped up in what might be one of the best locations in Amsterdam. Guests consistently mention how safe and walkable the area feels, especially in the evenings when the canals are lit up and the city takes on this magical quality. The fact that couples rate the location so highly tells you something — this isn’t just about convenience, it’s about being somewhere that actually enhances your Amsterdam experience. When you can step out your door and immediately feel connected to the city’s rhythm, that’s when you know you’ve chosen well.

What Our Guests Say
Very nice place to stay, very clean, not noisy at all even with full restaurant downstairs was still a lovely place to s I liked the fact there was a balcony and that you can come and go with ease.
What could be improved: The mattress on the bed was extremely soft, too soft that it caused me back pain
Central nice room with private bathroom No breakfast provided, but there are a lot of places around to eat. Desa was very welcoming. She responded right away with our requests and had a great attitude. Our room had a terrace. Near public transportation.
What could be improved: Steep stairs to go to the room. Water from the shower goes out a bit. You have to request cleaning.
Good value for money in a great location Great location, comfy beds, secluded balcony, 1st floor room, good tv, handy mini fridge
Lovely bolthole near Jordaan area of Amsterdam Beds were so comfortable. Lovely space and great bathroom. The location is fab next to some great neighbourhood bars, cafes and restaurants. The owner and her partner were lovely and ensured everything was good and left a few recommendations of places close by which were excellent.
Great location in the hub of the Jordaan. Great location ,enjoyed the balcony. Very nice to be able to make a cup of coffee and tea.
What could be improved: Needs a little maintenance- door handle fell off as we were leaving. the shower head holder was broken. Only one wine glass.
Great location and all the amenities we needed Great location, easy to access, nice space, comfy bed
A very nice property with contemporary decor. The. Propeety boasts a private bathroom and balcony. The property was very clean throughout.
The property was fully stocked with toiletries/tea and coffee (including kettle/coffee machine).
The property also had a mini fridge.
The bed/duvet and pillows were very soft and comfortable (including clean spare sheets in the room, if required).
The TV in the room is a smart TV and is connected to the internet.
Property located in a classy part of Amsterdam called Jordaan. Although the area is usually busy by day, it is quiet by night. Outside noise was not an issue in the room as the doors to the balcony appear to reduce outside noise really well.
A nice size balcony which was very convenient for smoking.
Close to a large supermarket, many cafes/restaurants etc.
A pleasurable 25 minute walk to Amsterdam Central station (crossing 4 nice canals on the way) or a much quicker journey by tram (from Elandsgracht).
The host Desa was very welcoming, friendly.
I would consider staying here again and would also recommend to family/friends.
What could be improved: There was no air conditioning, however the room comes was a large fan to compensate.
The shower head holder was missing so nowhere to mount the shower head whilst in use.
Very comfortable stay in a superb location - excellent value for money and would highly recommend for short breaks ✨ This B&B was in a great location in Jordaan and had easy access to so many places in Amsterdam - either on foot or via the tram stops!
It was excellent for us for a short stay and excellent value for money; the room is a decent size as is the en-suite and we were lucky enough to have the room with the balcony which was a lovely addition! 😊 We found the bed SO comfy and everything was clean and tidy - the additional touch of the coffee station and fridge in the room was nice and helpful.
We struggled slightly to find the property as the sign on the wall is very small, but once we did it was super easy from there! It doesn’t look like much when you first walk in but then once in the room it’s exactly what you need! 😊
Contact from the hosts was easy and we felt like we could reach out if there were any issues - thank you for a lovely stay!
Superb Host very friendly and helpful
Location really good
Plenty nice shops close by nice trendy area of Amsterdam
Best location- especially for Kings Day!! Great location in the Jordaan. Amenities closely such as restaurants and supermarkets- plus plenty of cool shops. Desa the host was very friendly and assisted us with lost baggage/ phone calls etc. large stain glass windows that could open. Clean bathroom and can request towel change during stay. Italian restaurant “Santi & Santini “ downstairs with manager/ chef from Puglia, Italy.
What could be improved: As it is a single room, we were unable to leave our luggage after check out ( we which already knew and was fine!..)
