I mean, when you’re staying in the Slotervaart district, you’re not exactly expecting boutique hotel vibes, but this place delivers exactly that.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about being in Amsterdam — everyone obsesses over the canal ring, but honestly, Slotervaart gives you something different. You’re about 15 minutes from the city center by tram (line 1 takes you straight there), and there’s actually decent parking here, which is gold in Amsterdam. The Zuiderpark is literally around the corner, perfect for morning runs or just escaping the tourist crowds. Plus, you’ve got the Foodhallen food market nearby — locals know it’s way better than most tourist traps downtown.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was thoughtfully designed — clean lines, neutral tones, but with these unexpected pops of color that kept things interesting. What I appreciated most was the attention to detail: blackout curtains that actually work, a rainfall shower with proper water pressure, and — this might sound small — but the bedside lighting was positioned perfectly for reading. The four-star rating feels accurate; it’s polished without being pretentious.
Dining & Social Spaces
The restaurant downstairs surprised me. I wasn’t expecting much, but their breakfast spread is solid — fresh pastries, decent coffee, and they do this Dutch pancake thing that’s worth getting up early for. The lobby area transforms into more of a social space in the evenings, and I found myself actually hanging out there with a drink, which rarely happens at hotels.

Definitely recommend this hotel…. Easy to get to via tram.

I would re-book given another chance. I really liked this hotel.
1. There is a bus/ tram that has a stage right outside the hotel entrance. This gives you access to Amsterdam central and beyond.
2. Breakfast: Was really good with a variety of options (continental)
3. Cleaness: Hotel was clean from entrance to lift to rooms and everything in it.
4. Staff: Were friendly and could speak english in addition to dutch.
5. Cost: it was worth it given the services received.
6. Security: It was good, i had concerns at all.
What could be improved: Nothing!
Would def stay here again The staff was very helpful, the room was a decent size & the location to the train & small plaza was very convenient

Superb The room was very spacious and the ability to leave our luggage at the reception was a great add on!
What could be improved: WiFi could be faster. Also, the maximum room temperature we could set was 21c which didn’t help when you get the room on the top floor.

The hotel is literally steps from the metro to go to the center of Amsterdam and very easy to pay with your card.
Check in and check out process was also very simple
What could be improved: There was a small panel to let the housekeeper know what you want. Had quite a bright light for sleeping but the staff manage to solve it very fast!
Great hotel in a convenient location Room was good, quiet, spacious and comfortable.
Appreciated the fridge in the room and the access to English language television programs.
Close to small shopping centre and supermarket.
Tram to city centre was also very close by.
Breakfast was good, with a good range of choices.
What could be improved: Early access to room (2:00 pm in my case rather than standard access time of 3:00 pm) was charged at an hourly rate of 5 Euro.
I thought this was inflexible and officious - reception staff should be given the delegation to waive this fee (if early room access is not in short supply) and would 'buy' substantial good-will with guests. As Americans might say, this policy is too 'nickel and dime' and alienates early arriving guests unnecessarily.
Excellent, no problems with great access to city centre Clean well presented and everything worked as it should.
The tram outside the hotel, gives direct access to the city centre in 20 minutes.
What could be improved: Nothing comes to mind.
