The building has this modern, clean-lined look that feels refreshingly straightforward after wandering through all those canal house hotels with their steep stairs and quirky layouts. It’s a three-star place, but the lobby actually feels more upscale than you’d expect.
Location & Neighborhood
Wanningstraat isn’t one of those tourist-heavy streets, which I mean as a compliment. You’re in Oud Zuid, so you’ve got the Rijksmuseum and Vondelpark within walking distance, but the immediate area feels like where actual Amsterdammers live. There’s a good coffee spot around the corner (locals queue up there every morning), and the tram connections are solid — you can get to Centraal Station or the Jordaan without any fuss.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed — they’ve clearly put effort into making the most of limited space. The bed was comfortable enough, and there’s actually decent storage, which isn’t always a given in Amsterdam hotels. The bathroom was modern and well-maintained, though you know what? The shower pressure was better than I expected. The soundproofing works well too, considering you’re in the city center.

There’s a small restaurant on-site that serves decent food, though I’d honestly recommend exploring the neighborhood instead — that’s half the fun of staying here. The breakfast is straightforward continental fare, nothing fancy but it gets the job done. What I appreciated was the 24-hour front desk and the fact that the staff actually knew the area well enough to give proper recommendations, not just the obvious tourist spots.

Great little hotel in a nice neighbourhood. Clean comfortable and great location. Really nice bathroom. Nice coffee machine in the bedroom. Bed was comfortable.
What could be improved: Small space meant I had to climb into bed from the bottom and crawl up to the pillows, but not a major problem given how good everything else is.
Good experience, lovely stay. I had a great stay, really friendly staff, always with a smile. The location was really good, quiet but close to the museums and only minutes away from the tram stop. Would recommend and will be returning.
What could be improved: I asked for a single room and it was a bit small, still comfortable though. I think I will book a double next time.

We had a very good time, this hotel is great for couples. The location was great and the street was so quite.
What could be improved: Instead of having a mini safe in the room it would be better a mini refrigerator.

Value for money, clean, would stay again Great location, clean, comfortable bed, good bathroom and good shower. Friendly staff. Check in & out process was easy.
What could be improved: It was a very small room for 3x adults (we booked a room for 3 adults). Some beds pushed up against walls and hard to walk around, no space to put 3x suitcases on the floor. Very cramped but comfortable for sleeping and fit the purpose.
Superb Staff was really friendly, and the breakfast was amazing, i still miss the baguettes and croissants. Another great thing is the location, so close to both the Vondelpark and the Rijksmuseum. I would definitely choose this hotel if i was visiting again!
What could be improved: The only problem was that a lot of water would leak from under the glass door in the shower, leaving a big puddle, even though we were very careful.
Really great, comfortable hotel in a great location We had a great stay here. The rooms were very spacious, comfortable and clean, and they were cleaned every day even on days we left the hotel relatively late. The staff was very nice and attentive and helped us with all of our needs. The location is impeccable. We’d definitely come back 😀
What could be improved: My only recommendation is to add a little fridge/minibar to the rooms.
