The July – Twenty Eight
First Impressions The July - Twenty Eight sits right on Stadionplein, and honestly, you can't miss it — the building has this sleek, contemporary vibe that immediately tells you this isn't your typical Amsterdam canal house hotel.
First Impressions
The July – Twenty Eight sits right on Stadionplein, and honestly, you can’t miss it — the building has this sleek, contemporary vibe that immediately tells you this isn’t your typical Amsterdam canal house hotel. I mean, the location alone is pretty fascinating because you’re literally a stone’s throw from the Olympic Stadium, which gives the whole area this sporty, energetic feel that’s quite different from the tourist-heavy center.
Location & Neighborhood
Being in Oud Zuid means you’re in one of Amsterdam‘s more upscale residential areas, and it actually works really well for travelers who want to experience the city like a local. The Vondelpark is just a short walk away — perfect for morning runs or lazy afternoon picnics. What I really appreciate is how easy it is to hop on a tram from here; you’ll be in the museum district or city center in about 15 minutes, but you get to escape back to this quieter neighborhood at the end of the day.
The Room Experience
The rooms here are what I’d call smart modern — clean lines, plenty of natural light, and everything you need without feeling cluttered. Each room has this minimalist Dutch design aesthetic that somehow manages to feel cozy rather than cold. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m pretty picky about mattresses), and the bathrooms are spacious with those rainfall showers that actually have good water pressure.
Dining & Amenities
The on-site restaurant focuses on contemporary European cuisine, and while it’s not groundbreaking, the food is solid and the atmosphere is relaxed. You know what really impressed me though? The attention to detail in the common areas — there’s this nice balance between being social spaces and quiet retreats. The fitness center is compact but well-equipped, which is great if you want to work off all those Dutch stroopwafels.
Why Guests Love It
This four-star hotel really hits that sweet spot between modern comfort and authentic Amsterdam living. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience — they’re not just going through the motions, and they know the neighborhood well enough to point you toward the good local spots. With a 9.1 rating, it’s clear that other travelers appreciate what The July – Twenty Eight brings to the table: a sophisticated base that doesn’t feel stuffy, in a part of Amsterdam that gives you breathing room while keeping you connected to everything the city offers.
Amsterdam hotels keep travelers close to cycling routes, floating flower markets, and tram lines to hidden gems.

What Our Guests Say
Exceptional Excellent experience, comfortable and clean rooms, all the necessary facilities included. I do recommend it for every tourist in Amsterdam
Fantastic accommodation! Everything was perfect and a bus and tram stop right outside which makes getting around very ea Location, size of room, clean, kitchen facilities, friendly staff. It was perfect 🤩
What could be improved: Nothing
I love staying here and I come back each time I'm in AMS Value for money. Great that you can do laundry. Well connected. Practical. Comfortable.
Exceptional Quiet and spacious, friendly and helpful staff and a relaxed laid back atmosphere, a pleasure to stay there.
What could be improved: Slightly weird lighting in the room, it wasn't until my second night that I worked out how to turn off all the lights without pulling the key card from the slot. I'm an engineer and don't usually have trouble with lighting controls. Not a big deal but mildly annoying.
Very good The sauna room is really good! We enjoyed this facility very much.
Well designed studio with everything you need Excellent studio, great design and had everything we needed. We arrived a bit early and the staff gave us a coffee and got the place ready for us. They responded quickly to anything we asked them.
What could be improved: Nothing, it was all good, perhaps a little further out of the city but we chose that because it had parking, it was easy to get to town and nice to walk.
Lovely stay in Amsterdam at the July Most comfortable bed - good location close to transit
What could be improved: A small detail but the bikes they rent out are pretty basic
Exceptional Everything was great
