But honestly, staying in what’s essentially a piece of Amsterdam’s working infrastructure turned into accommodation is pretty incredible. The room might be compact, but the novelty factor is through the roof.

Location & Setting

This four-star gem sits right in Amsterdam City Centre, literally floating on the water. You’re watching boats drift by from your window while still being walking distance from all the main attractions. The Hermitage Museum is practically next door, and you can easily stroll to Rembrandtplein or the flower market. What I love is how quiet it gets at night — you’d never guess you’re in the heart of the city.

The Experience

The space is cleverly designed, making every square meter count. There’s a small kitchenette where you can make coffee and simple meals, which actually comes in handy since you’re not dealing with hotel restaurant schedules. The bed sits right by these huge windows overlooking the canal, and I spent way too much time just watching the water and occasional boat traffic. It’s sort of like living in a very stylish houseboat, but with better amenities.

Practical Considerations

Fair warning — this isn’t for everyone. If you need lots of space or have mobility issues, the steep stairs and compact layout might be challenging. There’s no parking right at the property (it’s Amsterdam, after all), but there are options nearby if you’re driving.
