First Impressions
Rosies Place sits on a quiet stretch of Egelantiersstraat in the Jordaan district, and honestly, you could walk right past it if you weren’t looking. The building blends seamlessly into the row of traditional Amsterdam canal houses, which is exactly what makes it special. I mean, you’re staying in an authentic piece of Amsterdam history, not some generic hotel tower.
The Neighborhood
The Jordaan is where locals actually hang out — narrow streets packed with brown cafés, vintage shops, and that perfect Amsterdam vibe without the tourist chaos of Dam Square. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk from the Anne Frank House, but more importantly, you’re surrounded by neighborhood gems like Café Chris (supposedly Amsterdam’s oldest bar) and the Saturday Noordermarkt. The tree-lined canals here are quieter, better for those Instagram shots without crowds photobombing.
The Space
What strikes you first is how they’ve managed to keep the historic charm while making everything feel fresh and comfortable. The room I stayed in had those classic Dutch windows that flood the space with light, and the design strikes this nice balance between boutique style and homey comfort. It’s a four-star place that doesn’t try too hard — quality linens, good lighting for actually reading, and a bathroom that works properly (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always guaranteed in these old canal houses).
What Makes It Work
The staff here really know their neighborhood, and they’re the type who’ll give you actual recommendations rather than just pointing you toward tourist traps. They suggested this little Indonesian restaurant around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise. The whole place has this relaxed, residential feel — you’re not staying in a hotel so much as crashing at a friend’s really nice Amsterdam place.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Amsterdam has plenty of places to stay, but Rosies Place gets something right that bigger hotels miss. You wake up on a real Amsterdam street, grab coffee from the local bakery, and feel like you’re actually living in the city rather than just visiting it. That 9.8 rating makes sense when you experience how thoughtfully everything’s been put together — from the way they’ve preserved the building’s character to how they’ve positioned you right in the heart of one of Amsterdam’s most authentic neighborhoods.
Amsterdam’s hotels wrap guests in Golden Age architecture, tulip touches, and concierge-curated bike tours.

What Our Guests Say
Clean, modern apartment in a lovely, quiet part of Amsterdam Clean and homely, in a brilliant location
What could be improved: There is nothing to dislike. It was great.
Lovely stay in the perfect location! The property was exactly like the pictures! It was comfortable, in a great location, and Astrid was a lovely host. She provided great recommendations and truly made our stay more special than we imagined.
What could be improved: N/A
Great! Rosie’s was like a home away from home. Astrid was a very accommodating host. The flat is very well-equipped with everything you need. Plenty of hot water, toiletries etc.. one of the best we’ve stayed in.
What could be improved: Steep stairs but these are very common in Amsterdam.
Amazing host Location
What could be improved: Nothing
A wonderful stay Great location: quiet but close to the Jordaan and easy to use transportation to and from. Very pleasant host, nice terrace to relax on, well-equipped kitchen and bathroom, comfy beds. Even nicer than photos suggest! Wish we'd stayed longer, and would love to stay again. Thanks Astrid!
Would recommend Rosie’s Place to anyone looking for a lovely stay in Amsterdam.wish we could give her 11 stars! The location was perfect in a quiet walkable neighborhood with lots of good restaurants nearby. Easy access to the tram although we didn’t need it. Astrid was so kind and welcoming. The apartment was extremely clean and had everything we could possibly want. She even helped with our luggage. She is truly a gem.
What could be improved: Not a thing.
A perfect apartment for a visit to Amsterdam! We loved everything about this property! The location is ideal as it is on a quiet street but very near to all the key places you’d want to visit. The apartment is very well equipped and comfortable in all aspects. The bed, for us, was perfect and very comfortable. The host, Astrid, has thought of literally everything! She was very welcoming and helpful during our stay. We couldn’t have asked for more.
We loved our stay at Rosies Place, highly recommend! The location of Rosies Place can't be beat, and we loved the additional use of the terrace - we spent a couple hours almost every afternoon out there recharging after touring around in the morning and before heading back out in the late afternoon/evening. The amenities of the apartment were perfect with the kitchen fully equipped to enjoy breakfast at home, and we made full use of the coffee machine every day. Astrid is a wonderful host, easily reachable if you need anything at all, and make sure you check out the book she's thoughtfully put together, which has plenty of useful tips for the apartment and area.
What could be improved: I can't stress enough how much we loved our stay, and this is strictly a personal preference, but we did find the bed quite soft compared to what we're used to, which made for a few stiff wake-ups that just required some stretching on our end :)
Exceptional A very comfortable and well equipped accommodation in a great location for all the sights. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay at Rosie's Place if we return to Amsterdam - it was perfect.
Muchly needed. Would come back definitely. The location was amazing, lovely, clean and location was perfect. Spacious and comfortable.
