When I first walked into Rembrandt & Vermeer, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a four-star hotel tucked away on the fourth floor of a building on Gerard Doustraat. But you know what? I discovered this incredible little bakery two blocks away that makes fresh bread every morning, and there’s a weekend market on nearby Albert Cuyp Street that’s become one of my favorite Amsterdam experiences. The tram connections are excellent too, so you can easily reach Centraal Station or the museum quarter without dealing with the chaos of staying right in the center.
