First Impressions
When I first spotted the Red light district B & B canal view, I’ll be honest — the location made me do a double-take. You’re literally staying in the heart of Amsterdam’s most famous (or infamous) neighborhood, but somehow this place manages to feel like a peaceful retreat above all the action. The building sits right on Oudezijds Voorburgwal, one of those classic canal streets that makes Amsterdam so photogenic, and trust me, the canal views from here are absolutely worth it.
Location & Neighborhood
Look, staying in the Red Light District sounds wild, but it’s actually brilliant if you know what you’re getting into. During the day, this area is surprisingly calm — just tourists with cameras and locals going about their business. The four-star B&B puts you within walking distance of basically everything: Dam Square is maybe five minutes away, Central Station is close enough that you won’t break a sweat with luggage, and honestly, some of the city’s best brown cafés are right around the corner. You know what I love most? You can stumble back from dinner without worrying about trams or taxis.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had these huge windows facing the canal, and I spent way too much time just watching boats drift by. The space feels authentically Amsterdam — think exposed beams and that slightly tilted floor situation that comes with 17th-century buildings. Everything’s clean and comfortable, though don’t expect massive square footage (this is Amsterdam, after all). The bed was surprisingly good, and after walking around the city all day, that’s what really matters.
Practical Details
The hosts really know their stuff about Amsterdam, which makes a difference when you’re staying at a B&B. They’ll point you toward the good stroopwafel spots and away from the tourist traps on Damrak. Parking isn’t really a thing here — I mean, it’s the city center — but honestly, you won’t need a car anyway. The breakfast setup is simple but solid, with fresh bread and local cheeses that actually taste like something.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing about Red light district B & B canal view: it gives you the real Amsterdam experience without the sanitized hotel version. Yes, you’re in the Red Light District, but you’re also in one of the city’s most historic areas, surrounded by beautiful architecture and centuries of stories. The 9.2 rating makes sense when you realize you’re getting authentic Amsterdam character, those postcard-perfect canal views, and hosts who genuinely care about your experience. It’s not for everyone, but if you want to be in the thick of things while still having a proper place to rest, this spot delivers exactly what it promises.
Early hotels booking in Amsterdam secures light festival cruises, jazz club nights, and private cheese-tasting sessions.

What Our Guests Say
Best location in Amsterdam Very spacious, location is the best available, how was fantastic, you do pay a premium but this can be offset with more people, you won’t stay in a nicer and better located property in Amsterdam
What could be improved: Nothing to note
Exceptional Fantastic location, fantastic host, fantastic apartment.
What could be improved: Nothing
good option for red light nice old building inside the interesting area
What could be improved: the lock on the door was not stable so you can open it from time to time
A dream authentic Amsterdam experience Couldn’t have picked a better place to stay in Amsterdam, the location is perfect - right in the heart of city - next to the red light district. The highlight of the apartment had to be the living room with the large windows you can fully open which overlooks the canal. Very specious rooms and comfortable beds.
Overall 10/10 service and hospitality.
Yacob is a great host, thanks again. Will definitely be back !

Amazing stay. Amazing host. Amazing location. The host, Yacob, was amazing. He helped my partner and I out- big time. After booking.com allowed us to book 5 nights at an apartment which didn't exist, I booked this apartment. The location was perfect and the apartment was beautiful. Our host kept us updated with everything available in the local area and further afield. He provided us with suggestions for places to go for a day trip out, places to go for breakfast and even offered us a safe parking place. Could not be happier with how friendly and helpful Yacob was.
What could be improved: We booked the apartment and arrived literally minutes later. We fully understand that we had given our host no time to prepare and therefore completely understand that the place was not ready as such for our arrival. We were informed the cleaner would be with us the next day to complete any tidying or cleaning that needed to be done. Whilst we totally appreciate our host going above and beyond for us, the cleaning company used provided us with fresh toilet rolls but unfortunately the apartment wasn't cleaned. The bedding hadn't been changed, the bins not emptied and dying flowers left on the side. With all that said, we would HAPPILY stay again as we are sure Yacob did his best to accommodate us and make us comfortable.
You get what you pay for. You will not be disappointed. We will stay here again. An amazing apartment in an amazing location. The huge double windows that open up and look over the canal is a beautiful spot to sit and enjoy a ''coffee'' ;) Being able to relax in your own private space and yet feel included in the outside world was priceless. Yacob was a great host. Great with comunication and very generous. We arrived on Kings Day and Yacob was celebrating with his friends downstairs, BBQing on the street - insisting we join him for food. This spot is expensive, but you do get what you pay for. The apartment is well secured and despite being in the heart of the Red Light District - is relatively quiet. 100% recommend.
What could be improved: There was construction upstairs in the building on the Monday morning (The host was involved) that should have been rearranged considering how much we had paid to stay in the property. Removing tiles with power tools at 08:00 and then throwing the tiles into a metal skip on the street below - knowing you had guests, was a little inconsiderate.
Wonderful apartment with a fabulous host Amazing property with fantastic interior design
Exceptional! Very spacious, quiet high end space in a cool neighboorhood! Very spacious rooms; my bedroom was gigantic, maybe 25m2 with a very large comfortable bed and bedding, beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable, large windows, very quiet inside for such a busy area, nice open views of the canal, located right in the medieval center, next to some really good restaurants, shopping, everything you wish for plus a super nice host, available, reactive, helpful and kind.
Just great The location is great, the host is extremely understanding and helpful. Everything was just perfect.
