This four-star property sits in the Zuideramstel area — not exactly where tourists typically think to stay, but that’s actually part of its charm. The lobby feels more like a stylish apartment complex than a traditional hotel, which makes sense once you see the accommodations.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s the thing about staying in Zuideramstel — you’re away from the tourist chaos but still incredibly well-connected to everything. The RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre is practically next door, which explains why I saw so many business travelers, but Amsterdam‘s city center is just a quick tram ride away. There’s something refreshing about coming back to a quieter neighborhood after a day of navigating crowded canals and coffee shops. Plus, you’ll find decent supermarkets and local eateries within walking distance.

The Suites

The room — well, calling it a room feels like an understatement. These are proper suites with separate living areas and fully equipped kitchenettes. I mean, having a real kitchen with a dishwasher and everything means you can actually live here rather than just crash. The furnishings lean modern and practical rather than fancy, but everything works perfectly. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building, something you can’t always count on in older Amsterdam hotels.
