First Impressions
When I first spotted PERFECT B&B MIDDLE OF AMSTERDAM on Stadhouderskade, I’ll admit the name made me chuckle — it’s pretty bold, right? But honestly, walking up to this three-star spot, I could see they weren’t just throwing around empty promises. The building sits right on one of Amsterdam‘s main arteries, and you immediately get that “yeah, I’m actually in the city” feeling that some places just can’t deliver.
Location That Actually Works
Here’s what I love about Stadhouderskade — you’re basically positioned between the museum quarter and the buzzing Leidseplein area, which means you can walk to the Van Gogh Museum in about eight minutes or grab late-night food without taking a tram. The Rijksmuseum is right there too, and I mean right there. You know what’s even better? The tram stops are everywhere around here, so getting to Central Station or the Jordaan takes maybe fifteen minutes max.
The Room Experience
My room was… well, it was exactly what you’d expect from a B&B in Amsterdam’s center — cozy bordering on compact, but thoughtfully set up. The bed was actually comfortable (not always a given in this city), and they’d managed to squeeze in a small seating area near the window. What struck me was how clean everything felt, and the Wi-Fi worked properly, which honestly matters more than people admit when you’re trying to figure out museum hours or restaurant reservations.
Breakfast and Daily Rhythms
The breakfast setup is pretty straightforward — nothing fancy, but they do fresh bread and decent coffee, plus the usual spreads and cold cuts that make a proper Dutch morning. I actually enjoyed sitting in their little breakfast area, watching other travelers figure out their day plans. There’s something nice about that shared energy, you know? Plus the staff seemed genuinely helpful with directions and local tips, not just going through the motions.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to blow your mind with incredible design or over-the-top amenities, but it delivers on its promise. You’re staying in the heart of Amsterdam without paying hotel prices, the place is clean and well-run, and you can walk to most of what you came to see. I think the 7.8 rating makes total sense — it’s solid, reliable, and positioned exactly where you want to be. Sometimes that’s actually perfect, especially when you’d rather spend your money on great dinners and museum tickets than on a fancier room you’ll barely use anyway.
Locals suggest to book apartments in Amsterdam around Oud-West for artisan bakeries, vintage shops, and leafy squares.

What Our Guests Say
It was adequate, but not as close to the action of Amsterdam and some slight discomforts Property manager gave us the details to access a few days in advance of the stay.
What could be improved: There was no soap in the bathroom, bathroom was not fully cleaned (shower head terrible pressure as has no been probably cleaned), was at ground level which wasnt specified in the listing so very noisy.
Definitely recommend staying here, it's right in the heart of the city and great for exploring! We truly enjoyed how cosy and clean the place was when we walked into it, it had everything we needed from towels to cutlery and a mini fridge. We found the bathroom very spacious and loved the option of having a bath or shower. Our favourite part was the market behind the building, and it was next to a road that had the tram, many coffee shops and restaurants. Definitely recommend staying here if you're new to the city!
What could be improved: The walls weren't too thick, so you can hear people going in and out of the building in the morning. It's also right beside a main road so if you don't like traffic noise or aren't used to it, this place might not be for you but it didn't bother us! :)
excellent location and great hosts. Hosts were great and super helpful and accommodating. couldn't ask for better people, location was great. Bed was best we had over our whole Europe trip. Had coffee and tea on tap in the room which was great.
What could be improved: The lighting in the bathroom isn't great at all but its a big bathroom which helped compensate.
It was a cute place to stay for our time in AMS Good location, bed was very comfortable. It was clean and tidy.
What could be improved: Shower kind of smelt of weed, there wasn’t a microwave.
Exceptional Everything was great. The rooms was well equipped. The location is pretty cool. I highly reccomend!
What could be improved: -
Not exactly worth the 200€ paid per night, but overall a functional place to stay in Amsterdam The location was good: easy to get there from Schipol, De Pijp neighborhood was nice and a big supermarket really close. Interior design was cool and cozy. There was a fridge in the room. Bathroom was spacious. Communication was handled via WhatsApp, which was convenient.
What could be improved: Lots of contradictive information about room amenities: no wifi, a hair dryer was not mentioned, but was found in the studio, same with umbrellas. Tv needed to be connected to an external device which was confusing. No possibility to connect own devices to the tv. When asked about amenities, we were told to look from Booking.com, which we already had done, so the page was not up to date.
The studio was a little cold. There were three radiators, but no instructions of use. The big windows on first floor were draughty and did not suppress the noises from the adjacent road. A bed cover would be a nice addition so one could place things (suitcase) on the bed without staining the sheets. Overall the feel of the room was scruffy.
A guest folder for the room would be nice, instructions about cleaning, how to use devices etc. If you use multiple distirbution channels maybe make sure to have the information up to date. Even though I like WhatsApp as a communication channel, long messages of recommendations and coupons send to us without asking was really not necessary.
Good Location, cleanliness, kindness of staff
What could be improved: Was on ground floor, noisy as was close to main road
Perfect location. Location. Room.
What could be improved: I know many places like Amsterdam don't have air con or fans, but a fan would have been nice since the local council decided to pull up the entire road right up to the footpath outside our window for 5 straight days. That means you have to choose between being hot or unbearable amount of noise.
great place to stay in Amsterdam. very bright and convenient great and bright place, also perfect to work when you travel
fantastic stay, loved the accommodation and location! location was super easy, the flat itself was tidy, comfortable and everything we needed.
instructions and recommendations were very good and helpful to have.
What could be improved: nothing we didn’t like.
just worth noting, there’s no where to cook/wash utensils, but we were out most of the time, it wasn’t an issue.
