First Impressions
Walking into Orange Suite Studio feels like discovering a well-kept secret in the heart of Amsterdam. This four-star boutique property sits on Sint Jacobsdwarsstraat, which honestly sounds intimidating until you realize you’re just steps from everything that matters in the city center. The building has that classic Amsterdam charm — you know, the kind where you half-expect to see a canal around every corner — but inside, it’s been thoughtfully modernized without losing its character.
The Space
The studio apartment concept works brilliantly here, especially for couples (and the ratings back this up). Each unit feels more like a carefully curated city pied-à-terre than a typical hotel room. The kitchenette isn’t just for show either — it’s actually functional, which I appreciated when I wanted coffee at 6 AM or needed to store some Dutch cheese from the local markets. The design strikes this perfect balance between cozy and sophisticated, with warm lighting that makes everything feel intimate rather than cramped.
Location Magic
Here’s what the guidebooks won’t tell you — Sint Jacobsdwarsstraat puts you in the sweet spot where locals actually live and work, not just the tourist bubble. You’re a three-minute walk from the bustling Nieuwmarkt square, but far enough from the Red Light District chaos that you can actually sleep at night. The nearest tram stop connects you to Museum Quarter in about fifteen minutes, and honestly, most of central Amsterdam is walkable from here anyway. There’s this fantastic local restaurant called Café de Reiger just around the corner that serves the kind of Dutch comfort food you didn’t know you needed.
Daily Rhythms
Mornings here have this lovely rhythm — you wake up to natural light (the windows are generous), make coffee in your own space, and step outside to find the city already humming with bike bells and canal boat engines. The neighborhood has several small markets and cafés where you can grab fresh bread or pastries. What I really appreciated was having my own space to decompress after long days of sightseeing — sometimes you just want to sprawl on a proper sofa rather than perch on a hotel bed, you know?
Why Guests Love It
The 9.1 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s that rare combination of independence and service — you get the freedom of an apartment with the reliability of a hotel. The location consistently gets top marks because it delivers on Amsterdam’s promise without the tourist trap downsides. Couples especially seem to love the intimate vibe and the fact that you can actually cook a romantic dinner together if the mood strikes. Plus, there’s something satisfying about telling people you stayed in a “real” Amsterdam neighborhood rather than just another generic hotel district.

What Our Guests Say
Exceptional Our family was treated with great kindness during our stay. The apartment is very well located and offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Above all, Pepe is an exceptionally kind and friendly person — it was a real pleasure meeting him.
We strongly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Amsterdam.
Great location Great location, Pepe was so helpful and welcoming. Such a pleasure to meet him. Everything you could need in the studio. Bed was remarkably comfortable. Just off the beaten track so misses most of the foot traffic. Great little place.
What could be improved: Stairs a little hairy after a second rose. Take earplugs if you are a light sleeper, there is some passing footflow and it can get a little loud when they leave the local bars but overall not too bad. Certainly wouldn't put me off though.
Wonderful stay, felt like home thanks to Pepe Huge thanks to our host, Pepe, who waited for us despite our late arrival due to a long queue at Passport Control. He was incredibly kind, polite, and helpful throughout our stay, always ready to answer questions and gave us great tips on where to eat pizza or gelato. I truly enjoyed chatting with him each day about our plans. We’ve never met a more welcoming host. Thanks to him, our stay in Amsterdam felt just like home.
Staying in a traditional narrow Dutch house was a dream come true! The apartment is small but very cozy and clean, has everything you need: microwave, coffee machine, kettle, iron, hairdryer. We stayed for a week, me and my two adult daughters and felt completely comfortable.
The location is perfect, right in the heart of Amsterdam. We didn’t experience any noise issues; just a few random evening shouts, which we found more funny and entertaining than disturbing.
It was an unforgettable trip, and we’d love to come back to this apartment again. Highly recommended and many thanks again to Pepe!

Great Great little apartment!
Pepe lives next door and is very helpful.
Had all you needed (microwave, hair dryer,tv, wifi etc)
And was clean.
Also great location
Exceptional Extremely polite and helpful owner. He explained everything we needed about sightseeing and how is better and cheaper to go there. The studio is a bit small, but it is fine for 3 adults. It is exactly as the description 5' walking from the central station. A bit noisy at night but not a big problem. After all this Amsterdam!!!
I would recommend Pepe and his studio
A stay in the main area and close to all the rides / centrum shopping area Very good location near central station and lots of rides and stores and attraction at walking distance
What could be improved: Very small for a family of three adults… would be ok for a couple or two folks. Would have been ideal if we also had the cooking range available
Great place This place was in a great location close to everything in either direction. Pepe was very accommodating and just a great guy in general. He gave advise of places to see, and made himself available for anything. When i come back to Amsterdam i will be deffanately trying to get this location again
What could be improved: Nothing
Fantastic apartment and host. Loved this property and it was central to everything, a few minutes from Central Station and Dam Square. Plenty of pubs, cafes, coffee shops, supermarkets and clothing stores all on your doorstep. Could not ask for a better location. Pepe was a great host, he met us at the apartment as arranged, gave us some great recommendations on restaurants, museums etc and was right next door if we needed anything.
I have stayed in some of the highest rated hotels in Amsterdam but would return to this apartment again and again.
Excellent The location to the center is great. I was very pleased, it was a house with everything I wanted. Omer and Pepe were very helpful. It will be my only address in Amsterdam.
What could be improved: nothing
