First Impressions
Marnix360apartments Classic sits right on one of Amsterdam‘s busiest streets, and honestly, that’s part of its charm. The building has this understated elegance — you know, the kind where you’re not blown away at first glance, but then you start noticing all the thoughtful details. It’s a four-star property that feels more like a boutique experience than your typical hotel chain.
The Neighborhood Vibe
Marnixstraat is actually perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Amsterdam rather than just visiting. You’ve got the Jordaan district practically next door, which means those picture-perfect canals and cozy brown cafés are a five-minute walk away. What I really appreciated was how easy it was to grab groceries at the Albert Heijn around the corner — something you don’t always think about until you’re craving a proper coffee at 7 AM and room service isn’t your thing.
The Space Itself
The apartment setup here is what sets it apart from regular hotel rooms. You get a proper kitchenette with everything you actually need (not just a mini-fridge and a prayer), plus enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The design leans modern without being cold — think clean lines but with warm wood accents that make it feel homey. The beds are solid, and the bathrooms are surprisingly spacious for Amsterdam standards.
Getting Around
Here’s where staying on Marnixstraat really pays off — you’re walking distance to basically everything that matters. Centraal Station is maybe fifteen minutes on foot, the Anne Frank House is even closer, and if you want to explore the museum quarter, the trams are right there. I mean, you could easily spend your entire stay just wandering the neighborhood and stumble onto something interesting every few blocks.
Why Guests Love It
What really works about Marnix360apartments Classic is that it gives you the independence of having your own place while still getting the service you’d expect from a quality hotel. The staff actually knows the area well — they pointed me toward this little wine bar on Elandsgracht that I never would’ve found otherwise. Plus, the 8.1 rating makes sense when you experience it firsthand; it’s one of those places that just gets the basics right without trying too hard to impress you.

What Our Guests Say
The stay was absolutely great! This is now my go to place for Amsterdam. I will definitely be back! The location was absolutely perfect! On a major tram line so getting about was as easy as a quick stroll. The property was clean and well equipped. Having a washer and dryer was awesome and convenient. Max, the owner, was great and very accommodating.
What could be improved: Nothing to mention. Everything was great!
Great Location, But Comfort and Service Fell Short On a positive note, the location is excellent—very close to the city centre, yet quiet and peaceful. It’s also convenient for traveling to the airport and other cities. The apartment itself is spacious, and the beds are soft and cozy, making for a comfortable night's sleep.
What could be improved: Unfortunately, this was the first time I felt that the cost of the apartment did not match the level of comfort provided.
There were several issues that made our stay less enjoyable:
There were no kitchen towels provided—neither cotton nor paper ones.
The kitchen had only one sponge and no cloths available for cleaning the table or holding a hot pot.
The spark on the gas stove didn't work, and the lighter provided was out of gas.
The bathroom air fan was not working, and the windows in both the bathroom and one of the bedrooms could not be opened wide enough to ventilate the rooms properly.
All the towels provided were too small, especially for girls with long hair.
When I contacted the management about the lack of kitchen towels and the broken lighter, they showed no willingness to improve the situation or offer any alternatives.
Overall, the apartment lacked basic amenities and attention to detail, which was disappointing given the price.
Superb Location
If you want a relaxing break where you need to sleep I'd suggest you look elsewhere Location.
This is a fantastic location in Amsterdam.
The apartment is large and was clean, with new bed linen, mattresses and pillows.
What could be improved: It's a large apartment so only getting 2 keys wasn't great given we had a group of 7
It's EXTREMELY noisy.
There was loud music in the building as well as from the street until the early hours of the morning. It quietens down between 4am and 6am and then the trams kick in!
Good Good location, very spacious apartment, perfect for short stays for large groups.
What could be improved: Beds were very uncomfortable.
Great location, comfortable, exactly what we were after - a nice clean base for our sightseeing trip to Amsterdam. Locations great, beds comfy, very clean.
What could be improved: Nothing really to dislike. Steep stairs up to apartment (common with apartments in Amsterdam) but fine for our party but may be an issue with some guests who might find tricky. Can’t recall seeing this mentioned on advertisement so might be helpful to add.
Good apart from stair case that was really narrow and extremely steep Location was great, neat and well equiped
What could be improved: Should have warned us about the extremely narrow and steep stair case as we had 4 large suit cases.
Cosy apartment in good location, no complaints. Cosy apartment up a very long flight if stairs. Location is great and convenient. Apartment and facilities were in good condition. The staff were generally accessible and flexible and attended to our needs. Beds were comfy. Heating worked well.
What could be improved: There's a locked balcony which is a bit of a shame - would have been convenient. Only 1 toilet. Some things were missing (like kitchen towels) but were provided promptly. Really all ok.
Very well located apartment which could easily upgraded witj just some twists. - good location
- good size
- nice apartment
What could be improved: - kitchen not very well equipped (e.g. no wine glasses)
- only two keys for 5 people
- digital key (app) did not work
- only one bathroom, which is accessible only via one of the bedrooms
- very very soft mattresses
- relatively noisy (one hears everything from the other apartments and the street)
- relatively complicated before arrival (had to do quite a lot prior to arrival: downloading and registering app, bank transfer for deposit, bank transfer for tourist taxes, sending passport pictures…)
Handy central flat accommodating a larger group We liked the central location of the property.
The size was ideal for our group.
What could be improved: The shower was prone to overflowing the shallow tray.
There were only two toilet rolls left in the property.
