First Impressions
Walking into Lovely small apartment in ‘De Pijp’ feels like stepping into a friend’s place — and I mean that in the best possible way. This three-star spot sits right on Amsteldijk, which honestly puts you in one of Amsterdam’s most authentic neighborhoods without the tourist circus you’ll find closer to the center. The building itself has that classic Amsterdam charm, though don’t expect marble lobbies or doormen here.
The Neighborhood
De Pijp is where locals actually live, and you’ll figure that out pretty quickly when you see people cycling to work with their kids strapped to the back of their bikes. The Albert Cuyp Market is literally a five-minute walk away — I’m talking about the kind of market where you can grab fresh stroopwafels that are still warm and cheese that’ll ruin supermarket varieties for you forever. The area has this lived-in quality that tourist-heavy spots just can’t fake.
The Space
The apartment itself is compact but thoughtfully arranged — someone clearly put effort into making every square meter count. You’ve got a proper kitchenette that actually works (I tested it with some market finds), and the room setup feels more like staying in someone’s home than a generic hotel. The windows face Amsteldijk, so you’ll hear the occasional tram rumbling by, but it becomes part of the Amsterdam soundtrack pretty quickly.
Getting Around
Here’s what I really appreciated — you’re walking distance from Museum Quarter, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with tour groups outside your door every morning. The tram connections are solid, though honestly, I found myself walking most places because De Pijp has this way of revealing little surprises around every corner. There’s decent parking nearby if you’re driving, but you know what? You probably won’t need a car much once you’re here.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the Ritz, and it’s not trying to be. What it offers is something better for a lot of travelers — a real taste of how Amsterdam actually feels when you’re living here rather than just passing through. The 8.5 rating makes sense because people come here expecting a simple place in a great location, and that’s exactly what they get. You’ll fall asleep to the sound of the neighborhood settling down for the night and wake up ready to explore streets that most tourists never see.
Exploring Amsterdam blends gabled houses, world-class museums, and vibrant neighborhoods glowing with canal lights.

What Our Guests Say
It was excellent! The apartment was incredibly cozy! Although it’s not very big, it has absolutely everything you need. You can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while overlooking the canal, which was such a lovely touch. Everything was spotless and smelled fresh. The bed was super comfortable, and the bathroom had all the essentials. A perfect stay!
What could be improved: Yes, the apartment is located by a busy street, but if you’re not a light sleeper, it’s absolutely fine! And besides, there are earplugs provided to help you get a good night’s sleep.
Recommended Very clean and nice design
What could be improved: A bit of noisy but there was a pair of ear protectors already in the room 😄
Good The location was excellent, and the flat cozy, clean and tastefully furnished. The area is super easy to get around, with lots of good shops and restaurants in walking distance.
What could be improved: It was smaller than we imagined from the photos, so a bit tight for two, and very stuffy and hot because there's only one tiny window that can be opened. It is also on a main road so quite noisy - light sleepers should bring earplugs! (The fridge was very noisy too)
Superb Great location, small but cozy room, comfortable bed! If all you need is a comfortable place to stay, this is definitely a recommendation!
We loved the Lovely Apartment The location is great! Our host was fantastic; they checked in with us several times to see if we needed anything. Communication was Great.
Good cute place. Comfy bed and easy to check in and out. Good communication. Lovely and small and easy to get in and out. Bed and pillows were super comfortable
What could be improved: It was great but the acoustics weren’t amazing. Could hear people outside. Would maybe recommend moving the seat from outside so it deters people from sitting and talking at the middle of the night.
Very good Location was beautiful.
What could be improved: The fridge sounded like Darth Vader. There is only one little window that opens, and it got quite hot. A fan in the room would have helped.
As it’s name says, small but lovely It was very clean and well equipped with basic facilities/needs. Beautiful bathroom and quite a good position related to the price
What could be improved: There was no drawer/wardrobe for clothes and the neighbors upstairs were quite noisy even during the night.
We had a great time in De Pijp Excellent location. Very comfortable bed. Although tiny, we felt at home in the space.
What could be improved: Amsterdam prices! :-)
Brilliant access to transport and comfortable bed, nice bathroom too. Me and my partner were extremely satisfied with how close we were to tram and bus stops, easy to get to the city centre and lots of nice restaurants around. Very comfortable bed and great for a short stay.
What could be improved: People above were noisy most nights. Difficult to figure out how to get the door unlocked.
