First Impressions
Walking up to LIEV Amsterdam Cozy boutique suite in The Pijp, you immediately get the sense that this isn’t your typical hotel experience. It’s tucked into Frans Halsstraat in a way that feels more like you’re staying at a friend’s incredibly stylish place rather than checking into a standard accommodation. The four-star property has this understated elegance that perfectly captures what makes Amsterdam so appealing — it’s sophisticated without being stuffy, and there’s something genuinely welcoming about the whole setup.
The Pijp Neighborhood
Honestly, the location is what really sold me on this place. The Pijp is one of those neighborhoods that locals actually want to live in, not just somewhere tourists end up by accident. You’re literally steps away from the Albert Cuyp Market, which means fresh stroopwafels in the morning and some of the best cheese you’ll find anywhere. What I love is that you can walk to the Rijksmuseum in about fifteen minutes, but you’re also surrounded by the kind of brown cafés and local spots that make you feel like you’ve discovered something special. The couples who stay here clearly get it — there’s something romantic about wandering these tree-lined streets together.
The Suite Experience
The room itself feels more like a carefully curated apartment than a hotel suite, and I mean that in the best possible way. Everything has been thoughtfully chosen, from the lighting that actually makes you look good to the kind of bedding that makes you want to extend your checkout time. There’s enough space to spread out without feeling like you’re rattling around in an oversized space, and the design strikes this perfect balance between modern comfort and that distinctly Amsterdam character you came here to experience.
Daily Rhythms
What really impressed me was how the place adapts to different travel styles. In the morning, you can grab coffee from one of the excellent local spots just outside your door — there’s this place called Café Sarphati that does incredible flat whites if you’re into that sort of thing. Evenings feel natural here too; you’re close enough to the action that you can easily explore Amsterdam’s famous nightlife, but the street itself is quiet enough that you’ll actually get some sleep. The whole area has this lived-in quality that makes you want to slow down and actually experience the city rather than just checking things off a list.
Why Guests Love It
I think what makes this place work so well is that it doesn’t try too hard to be something it’s not. You’re getting genuine Amsterdam character in one of the city’s most authentic neighborhoods, with all the comfort and style you’d want from a quality hotel. The fact that it consistently gets such high ratings tells you something — people leave here feeling like they’ve had a real Amsterdam experience, not just stayed somewhere convenient. It’s the kind of place that makes you start planning your next trip back before you’ve even checked out.

What Our Guests Say
Very convenient for me as I was attending a congress at RAI Room was a little small and ideal for a single traveler. Room was very clean.
Comfortable bed and pillows. All the items in the room were new, modern, and stylish. Nice neighborhood. close to metro, only one stop away from RAI.
What could be improved: No window or ventilation opening to the outside. It can sometimes be quite noisy outside at night.
Very enjoyable - it was the perfect spot to discover the city from Great location. Near the metro and lots of restaurants, bars and shops.
The suite is very small but well laid out. The bed was very comfortable.
What could be improved: N/A
Fabulous! Lydia and Roelof are great hosts! I appreciate their warm hospitality and kind helpfulness! The room is cozy and clean; they decorate the room with great care and love. Definitely recommend it and I’m eager to come back again!
Best apartment in Bucharest Location is great . Communication before arrival was also great left nothing to chance. Apartment is very well appointed.
What could be improved: Nothing
Great home base for explorers! Amazing location, super cute room. The hosts were communicative through the entirety of our stay, and left us beverages and sweets to enjoy upon our arrival.
The room is on the small end, so probably not best for someone who prefers to spend most of their time in the room, but this was clearly described, and the room provided a great home base for us to explore the city and surrounding areas.
Great location, lovely small apartment. Very well set up, and the host was very hospitable The space was extremely well thought out, all the fittings were top class. It’s in a great location, right in the middle of de Pijp.
What could be improved: There was a little bit of noise from a at across the street one night, but it didn’t bother us.
Lovely hosts, good accommodation and close to Metro Owners were lovely and very hospitable; cleanliness of room and good amenities
What could be improved: Location of accommodation on street is too noisy at night
Great stay. Bed matress was really soft, too soft for me to comfortable.
An ergonomic pillow would be a good add..
What could be improved: See above
Wonderful stay in Amsterdam. Convenient. Clean and owners were very helpful. Great location.
A beautifully decorated, well-equipped stay in a safe and friendly neighborhood, with thoughtful local touches and an in Lovely location in a nice neighbourhood, felt so safe and friendly to walk around with loads of places to eat.
Easy access via a door code.
Fab decor with lovely little touches, local scenes above the bed.
Air-con unit that would have been amazing if the weather was warmer.
Nespresso coffee machine with plenty of pods and sachets of creamer and sugar.
Cups were local deft wear, as were the spoons, such a nice touch.
Pre stocked mini fridge with little treats and drinks, which was great to arrive to after travelling.
I have to say I’m really picky about beds as being comfortable and sleeping well is so essential when you’re staying over somewhere and the bed was SOOOO comfy, great memory foam mattress, choice of pillows and season appropriate weight of duvet - just brilliant.
Very well equipped bathroom, clean, modern and with great local hand wash, shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
Great shower!!
What could be improved: It is small, but beautifully put together, so not a dislike, more of an observation if you need a lot of room this one is probably not for you. But there is plenty of surface space to store bits and bobs so never felt cramped.
