First Impressions
Walking up to Jordan Canal Studio on Prinsengracht, you immediately know you’ve found something special. This four-star gem sits right in the heart of Amsterdam’s most charming neighborhood, and honestly — the location alone is worth the stay. The building has that classic Amsterdam canal house character, but without feeling stuffy or overly touristy. You’re literally steps away from everything that makes this city magical, yet tucked into a quieter stretch of the canal where you can actually hear yourself think.
The Neighborhood
The Jordaan district is where locals actually want to live, and staying here gives you that authentic Amsterdam experience most tourists miss. You’ve got cozy brown cafés within a two-minute walk, plus some of the city’s best boutique shopping along the Nine Streets just around the corner. What I love about this spot is how you can stroll to the Anne Frank House or the Westerkerk in about five minutes, but you’re also perfectly positioned for those spontaneous canal-side walks that make Amsterdam so addictive. The area feels residential enough that you’re not constantly dodging tour groups, which — trust me — is a blessing.
The Space
The studio itself strikes that perfect balance between compact and comfortable. You know how Amsterdam accommodations can be tiny? Well, this place actually makes smart use of its space without feeling cramped. The room has everything you need for a city break — good lighting, decent storage, and a setup that works whether you’re here for business or pleasure. The design leans modern but keeps some of those charming Dutch touches that remind you where you are. I mean, you’re staying in a canal house, so there’s character built right into the walls.
Daily Life Here
Mornings are particularly lovely — you can grab fresh stroopwafels from the local bakery or hit up one of the nearby cafés for proper Dutch coffee. The whole area comes alive gradually, which gives you time to ease into your day before the city gets busy. Evenings are even better, actually. The canal views from this stretch of Prinsengracht are some of the most photogenic in the city, especially when the lights start reflecting off the water. You’ll find yourself taking the long way home just to soak it all in.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it puts you right in the middle of everything without the chaos. Couples especially seem to get it — there’s something romantic about having your own little Amsterdam hideaway on one of the city’s most beautiful canals. The combination of authentic neighborhood vibes and easy access to major sights is pretty hard to beat. You can walk to Centraal Station in about fifteen minutes, but you’re also surrounded by the kind of local spots that make you feel like you’ve discovered something special. It’s that sweet spot where convenience meets character, and honestly, that’s exactly what you want from an Amsterdam stay.

What Our Guests Say
Close to shopping, restaurants and the tram The location was perfect for exploring Amsterdam. The studio apartment was spacious and had what we needed. Just like home. Marcel, the host, thought of everything when he furnished the apartment. There were plenty of restaurants and shops to explore and about a 5-10 minute walk to the trams.
Perfect way to sample Amsterdam living. Great apartment. The full 'Amsterdam Experience'. Great location on the canal. Lots of bustle on the street during the day but quiet at night. Superb host; attentive but not intrusive.
Exceptional The host Marcel was extraordinarily generous in allowing us to stay in his apt while he cleaned up the rental unit. We had just flown in from the states and were exhausted and way too early to move in.5
