First Impressions
Walking into i hotel in Amsterdam Noord, you immediately get the sense this is a place that doesn’t take itself too seriously — and honestly, that’s refreshing. The three-star property has this clean, minimalist vibe that feels distinctly Dutch without being overly designed. I mean, the name alone tells you they’re going for something simple and modern. The lobby’s got this bright, airy feel that makes you forget you’re actually in what used to be a pretty industrial part of the city.
The Noord Experience
Here’s what I love about staying in Amsterdam Noord — you’re technically still in Amsterdam, but it feels like you’ve discovered this cool, artsy neighborhood that most tourists completely miss. The hotel sits on Meeuwenlaan, and while that might not mean much if you’re not familiar with the area, trust me when I say you’re perfectly positioned to explore the creative side of the city. You know what’s great? You can actually walk to the NDSM wharf area, which has become this amazing cultural hub with festivals, markets, and some seriously good food trucks. The ferry ride across to Central Station takes maybe 15 minutes, and honestly, it’s part of the charm — you get these lovely views of the city skyline.
Your Room
The room itself is exactly what you’d expect from a well-run three-star in Amsterdam — compact but thoughtfully designed. Everything feels fresh and clean, with those big windows that let in tons of natural light (which you’ll appreciate during those shorter winter days). I actually found the bed quite comfortable, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The bathroom’s modern and functional — nothing fancy, but the shower pressure is decent and everything works as it should.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here is where things get interesting. They’ve got this continental buffet setup that’s way more comprehensive than I expected — we’re talking proper variety with halal options, which shows they’re thinking about their diverse guest base. What I really appreciated was the breakfast-to-go option, because let’s face it, sometimes you want to grab something quick and head out to catch that morning light for photos around the city. The coffee’s solid (this is the Netherlands, after all), and there’s enough variety to keep you happy whether you’re a light eater or someone who needs a proper meal to start the day.
Why Guests Love It
You know what really stands out about this place? It’s got that sweet spot of being affordable without feeling cheap, and the location actually gives you a more authentic Amsterdam experience than staying right in the tourist center. Couples seem to really dig it here — probably because Noord has this relaxed, almost village-like feel while still being connected to everything. Plus, you’re not dealing with the constant noise and crowds of the city center, but you can be there in 20 minutes whenever you want. For the price point and the experience you get, it’s honestly a pretty smart choice if you want to see Amsterdam from a slightly different angle.
To book a hotel in Amsterdam during tulip season, guests pair pre-dawn Keukenhof shuttles with sunset cocktails on IJ river decks.

What Our Guests Say
Pleasant Location
What could be improved: The shower cabin door was missing, the hand soap had run out, the room cleanliness was poor, and the lamps didn’t work.
Superb Nice area, quiet and one stop away from the centre by metro
What could be improved: No window that could be opened in room which required air conditioning to be on constantly throughout the night to have fresh air
Superb The woman at the desk was awesome nice place short walk to free fery to Amsterdam centrall..
Fantastic staff and value for money! Very friendly staff. The receptionist was fantastic! She was sweet and very positive! The waiter at the breakfast was also very friendly! Room was good as well. Not so big, but comfortable and the airco was good.
What could be improved: Nothing, all good!
A great economical option in Amsterdam-Noord Amsterdam is an expensive place, so i hotel was a great find tucked away in Amsterdam-Noord, just a single Metro stop away. It was not restrictively tiny, with a loft bed over a small sitting room and bathroom. Reception is manned 24/7, so we were able to check in after midnight. Rooms were clean and well-designed, and the bed was comfortable.
What could be improved: Although the metro is a short walk away, current roadworks restrict pedestrian access along and crossibg the main roads, so you need to figure out a path winding around the neighborhood the first few times.
We had Aircon access the first two nights, but this was curtailed the next two because it was deemed too cold, despite the Aircon bring the only source of ventilation. Luckily we were able to persuade the front desk to let us have it back.
For the famous city - famous prices The staff working at the hotel were very polite and they exceeded our expectations. From helping us to the cheapest way to the city center to helping us move around the town, and the prompt coffee every morning haha
The rooms were clean and super comfortable. We even had access to the balcony, which I didn't expect to have. It was a nice surprise!
The toilet is fancy. We had everything we needed: rolls, glasses, soaps, shampoo, and shower gel. We didn't need to buy anything. It felt safe staying here, and no one bothered us.
What could be improved: The first bad thing to keep in mind is simply the price. We stayed four nights, which was 740 Euros. This is a horrendous price, and we traveled around the globe, but this was probably the highest-paid hotel we stayed in. Considering this is not a city centre or fancy suite, this was a basic standard room. Also, to get to the city center, you must walk for around 40 minutes and even take a boat to the other side.
The other important thing to keep in mind is that we were lucky with the other residents at the time. There was no soundproofing whatsoever, so every breath, step, and word was clearly heard from other rooms. As I said, we were lucky as all the noise got down around midnight, but if we had only one who didn't follow the rules, we would not have had a night of sleep.
Would I revisit this place? Sure.
Would I pay this price again, never!
Should you pay this price? Absolutely not.
Good Decent location, the staff are so lovely, room was a bit small but perfect for short stays, had WiFi, tv , hairdryer and towels
What could be improved: Very strong smell, pubic hair on the shower walls
Nice for a city break. Close enough walk to the ferry crossing just outside the central station. Plenty of space in the loft room.
What could be improved: The double bed was just 2 single beds pushed together.
Good Comfortable beds and it was good to have a tv in the room
What could be improved: The room was freezing. The air conditioner didn’t work properly, and it seemed like the filter hadn’t been cleaned in a while, which triggered my allergies the entire time I was there.
i would stay here again. i would just make sure there is no road works😂 Me and my partner stayed here for 3nights4days, we enjoyed the hotel however the walls are quite thin and we can hear what’s going on in the hallway, wasn’t a big problem though. unfortunately the time that we went there was road works all outside the building, couldn’t hear it but had to walk and extra 5 mins or so to the metro station as it completely blocked the road. Best part was the transport to the centre. it took around 10 mins to get where we wanted to go using the metro which isn’t a long walk to get to at all. the transport is also really cheap doing tap on tap off. There is also a shell station if you want snacks just down the corner, if you’re looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful i do recommend here. the biggest issue for us was the loft room which i requested however the stairs to go to the bed are extremely thing and steep and you have to be very careful walking up and down them as there’s not much foot space to climb up on. other than that the staff were friendly, it was very clean, bed was comfortable and the shower pressure was fantastic as well as the heat.
