First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Victorie, you immediately notice it’s not trying to be something it isn’t — and honestly, that’s refreshing. This three-star property sits right on Victorieplein in Amsterdam’s Zuideramstel district, and while it won’t blow you away with flashy exteriors, there’s something genuinely welcoming about the straightforward approach. The lobby feels clean and organized without being sterile, which pretty much sets the tone for your entire stay here.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I really appreciate about the Zuideramstel area — you’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from the tourist chaos to actually breathe. The hotel’s location consistently gets high marks from guests (an 8.2 rating, actually), and couples especially seem to love it here. You’ve got solid public transport connections that’ll get you into the city center without much fuss, but the neighborhood itself has this nice residential feel. There are local cafes and shops within walking distance, which means you can grab coffee or groceries without dealing with the crowds around Dam Square.
The Rooms
The accommodations at Hotel Victorie are what you’d expect from a well-run three-star place — comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully arranged. Nothing fancy, but everything works properly, which is more than I can say for some pricier places I’ve stayed. The rooms have that European efficiency thing going on, where every square meter serves a purpose. You’ll find decent storage space, reliable Wi-Fi, and beds that actually let you sleep well after a day of walking around Amsterdam’s cobblestone streets. Many guests appreciate the practical layout and attention to detail.
Breakfast Experience
The breakfast setup here is pretty solid — they offer both continental and buffet options, which gives you some flexibility depending on your morning mood. I mean, some days you want to grab a quick pastry and coffee, other days you’re ready for a proper sit-down meal before tackling the Rijksmuseum or whatever’s on your agenda. The buffet has enough variety to keep most people happy, and the continental option works well if you’re the type who prefers to eat light and explore the local bakeries later. The restaurant staff ensures everything runs smoothly throughout the morning service.
Why Guests Love It
What really works about Hotel Victorie is that it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. You’re getting a reliable, well-located base for exploring Amsterdam at a reasonable price point. The staff seems to understand that travelers want helpful information and smooth check-ins more than elaborate gestures, and they nail that balance. Plus, being in Zuideramstel means you can experience a bit of local Amsterdam life — you know, the version where people actually live and work, not just the tourist-focused areas. For couples especially, this seems to hit the sweet spot between accessibility and authenticity.

What Our Guests Say
Good great location, received a free room upgrade for a more spacious one. pretty standard, met my expectations. the hotel has seen better days, but it's clean
What could be improved: looks a bit worn down
Quiet hotel for work or leisure, easily accessible Proximity to RAI; close to trams; quiet residential area; clean; good internet; many plugs in room; balcony on courtyards at second floor; lift; additional toilet at ground floor. Restaurants close to hotel. I read negative comments about the place but it was absolutely not my experience.
What could be improved: The entrance door looks a bit forbidding.
Very good Location is great and near to a bus/tram stop, the room was pretty spacious with a balcony that was a nice plus! Staff were friendly and helpful when needed and the room cleaning was great.
What could be improved: The noise insulation isn't great, I could hear my neighbors' door closing or if they were a bit too loud, nothing too unreasonable though. Also wish the TV had a streaming service and not just cable.
It was great stay, tram station is near The location is good , next to the tram station and Grocery store ( just is case you need anything) ..
What could be improved: The public parking is €5.18/ hr ( 9am to 12 midnight) (Sunday is free)
AMS south nice hotel stay The hotel was rather expensive during the SAIL event weekend, but it was worth its price.
Nice reception and smooth check-in allowed us to enjoy the rest of the time in AMS in the neighbourhood and on the events during the weekend.
What could be improved: A few lights were not working in the room, toilet seat unstable, the balcony was existing but not at all inviting to stay there, otherwise the room was fine - just would need some normal maintenance. Parking has its high price - as to be expected in AMS.
Pleasant Localization
What could be improved: City parking - hotel doesn’t have a own parking;
Catering- no warm/ cooked Food - no kitchen in hotel- not too many kinds of food
Crashed things- no good batery in tv remote control
Very good Clean.
Very close to public transportation.
Relatively quite.
What could be improved: We have stayed at the ground floor, and the windows were locked with keys against thefts, etc. This I can understand. What I cannot understand is why they didn't want to open it at our request for half an hour / an hour for fresh air before sleeping, and close it again, while we've been IN THE ROOM...
Superb Close to a tram stop which will take you into central amsterdam and right next to a supermarket. Bed was very comfortable
What could be improved: Water temperature for shower was very hot despite trying to change it to the coldest setting which was still very warm/hot. There is no fan in the bathroom so steam builds up quickly and makes the bathroom very damp and cannot leave the bathroom door open to ventilate otherwise the fire alarm in the bedroom will alarm
Excellent Good staff, clean, proximity to transportation
Cute and small hotel, which is perfect for short trips The room was roomy, not too small as there was room to easily walk around. The hotel is located in a quiet corner with two tram stations close by. Furthermore, De Pijp is also just a twenty minute walk away. Lots of cute cafes, restaurants and boutiques can be found in the area. The staff members were very kind and accommodating.
What could be improved: The bathroom, however, was tiny. If you were to sit on the toilet and someone opened the door, it would slam against your knees. And also the lighting in the room is oddly spread out.
