First Impressions
Hotel2Stay sits in Amsterdam’s Westpoort district, and I’ll be honest — it’s not where most tourists expect to find themselves. This three-star property feels more like a well-kept secret than a flashy hotel, which actually works in its favor. The building has this clean, straightforward design that doesn’t try too hard, and you know what? That’s exactly what you want after a long day exploring Amsterdam.
Location & Getting Around
Westpoort isn’t the canal-lined neighborhood you see on postcards, but here’s the thing — it’s incredibly well-connected. You’re about 15 minutes from Central Station by public transport, and the area feels genuinely Dutch rather than tourist-heavy. There’s something refreshing about staying where locals actually live and work. Plus, parking here is way easier than in the city center, which anyone who’s driven in Amsterdam will tell you is worth its weight in gold.
The Room Experience
My room was surprisingly spacious for European standards — I mean, you can actually open your suitcase without having to close the bathroom door first. The design leans modern and practical, with decent lighting for getting ready and a comfortable bed that didn’t leave me counting sheep. The bathroom was compact but functional, with a proper shower that had good water pressure. Nothing fancy, but everything worked exactly as it should.
Daily Comforts
The hotel keeps things simple but gets the basics right. There’s a decent breakfast spread that’ll fuel you for a day of sightseeing — fresh bread, local cheeses, and proper coffee that doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting around for hours. The staff genuinely seems to care about your stay without being overly chatty, which I appreciate. Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building, and the common areas have this relaxed vibe where you can plan your day without feeling rushed.
Why Guests Love It
Hotel2Stay delivers exactly what it promises — a clean, comfortable base for exploring Amsterdam without the tourist trap pricing. The 8.7 rating makes perfect sense when you consider the value proposition. You’re getting reliable accommodation with easy access to the city, plus you’ll save enough money to actually enjoy those canal boat tours and museum visits. It’s the kind of place you’d recommend to friends who want to experience Amsterdam properly without breaking the bank.
Early hotels booking in Amsterdam secures light festival cruises, jazz club nights, and private cheese-tasting sessions.

What Our Guests Say
We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly. Close to station. Clean and comfortable. Gym. Self catering amenities.
Very good Convenient to the airport, I believe I was given an upgrade by the handsome receptionist after a long wait at check in because the room was much nicer than the standard room photos.
What could be improved: Check in takes 10 minutes per guest, it gets chaotic when multiple guests arrive at the same time. My score would have been much lower without the upgrade.
Nice rooms, like small apartment Nice clean rooms, with small kitchen that has everything.
What could be improved: /
Fantastic location, staff, facilities and room! Staff were fantastic! We missed our original flight due to our airline delaying a connecting flight, and the lovely staff refunded our first night when we were unable to make it til the next day. Comfortable rooms, great reasonably priced laundry and a nice quiet place to stay. Fantastic location too!
What could be improved: Nothing to speak of!
Good value in an expensive city if you are willing to be a few minutes train ride from downtown Location close to Sloterdijk train station. Less than 10 minutes to downtown. Room has kitchenette, a couple of small grocery stores within a few minutes ( close to the Holiday Inn. The Holiday Inn hotel also has a restaurant if you want to dine out.)
What could be improved: Room does not have a microwave. ( We knew that beforehand, so this is just a comment for future guests).
overall a great hotel though- fantastic value and location Great location, very central. Lovely bike ride through the park into the centre of town
What could be improved: As a lone female traveller I didn't feel very safe after dark so would get a taxi to the door rather than bike or walk
Great location and kitchen Spacious room with great kitchen
Very close to bus , tram, train station and FlixBus.
What could be improved: Lift and hallway are black which is difficult for aged people to recognize.
Superb Very nice hotel, nice and clean rooms and food service with nice staff. Metro, train and tram connections nearby
What could be improved: A bit far from center bit very well connected
A very nice place to stay We spent a week at the hotel, upon my request we got a quite big room with a window to the internal part, quiet and nice. We booked a room with an extra big bed which was very comfortable. The rooms have fully equiped kitchens, spacious bathrooms and the windows have an excelent isolation. We loved our stay and would very recommend it. The place is close to the railway station and the bus and tram stop (3 minutes walk). The young receptionists were very nice and helpful, any request was dealt with in a correct way. If you stay there, you should visit the gym and the terrasse. There is also a laundry (euro 3 per wash or dry), very practical. You can rent a bike (euro 20 per day).
What could be improved: A long distance by foot to the center. Public transport is expensive in Amsterdam. A bit far from supermarkets (15 min to LIDL). You can also shop closer, at the railway station but it's expensive. The TV is very small and placed far from the bed. The cleaning to be definitely improved. In the bathroom no place and/or no furniture to put your staff, very uncomfotable, to be improved as well. But all in all a very nice place!
Delightful. Location is perfect. Right between the airport and downtown. Walkable distance to grocery.
What could be improved: None.
