First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Levell, you immediately get the sense that this three-star property punches above its weight. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe without trying too hard — honestly, it feels more upscale than you’d expect for the price point. What struck me right away was how genuinely welcoming the staff seemed, not in that rehearsed hotel way, but like they actually cared about making your stay work out well. The attention to detail in the design creates an inviting atmosphere that sets the tone for your entire visit.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about the Zuidoost area — it’s not where most tourists automatically think to stay, but that’s actually what makes it smart. You’re still in Amsterdam proper, but you get way more value for your money and it’s surprisingly well-connected. The couples who stay here consistently rate the location highly (around 8.3), and I get why. There’s something nice about being in a real neighborhood rather than right in the tourist chaos, plus you can actually find parking here, which anyone who’s driven in Amsterdam will tell you is basically a miracle. The neighborhood offers authentic local experiences while maintaining convenient access to major attractions.
The Room Experience
I mean, let’s be real — the rooms aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully designed and incredibly comfortable. The beds here are genuinely excellent (guests consistently rave about the sleep quality), and after a long day of walking around Amsterdam, that matters more than you might think. The rooms feel fresh and well-maintained, with enough space to actually unpack your stuff without everything feeling cramped. You know what I appreciated? The blackout curtains actually work, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many hotels mess this up. Every element has been carefully considered for guest comfort.
Breakfast & Practical Perks
The breakfast setup is solid — they do both continental and buffet options, so whether you’re a grab-and-go person or someone who likes to linger over coffee, you’re covered. What really sets Hotel Levell apart though is the private parking situation. If you’re driving in Amsterdam (or renting a car for day trips), this is huge. Most places either don’t have parking or charge you an arm and a leg for it, so having it included feels like winning the lottery. The convenience factor here genuinely enhances the overall experience.
Why Guests Love It
This hotel consistently gets high ratings (8.3 overall) because it delivers on the fundamentals without any pretense. You get a great night’s sleep, a good breakfast, and you’re not dealing with the usual Amsterdam headaches like parking or being crammed into the tourist center. It’s the kind of place that works especially well for couples who want to explore the city but also value having a peaceful, comfortable base to return to. The Zuidoost location means you’re experiencing a more authentic slice of Amsterdam while still having easy access to everything you came to see. The staff’s genuine hospitality and attention to detail make this property a standout choice.
Hotels in Amsterdam line historic canals, museum quarters, and buzzing neighborhoods filled with cozy cafés.

What Our Guests Say
Very good I liked the convenience the beds were also very comfortable
What could be improved: Staff could work on being more polite and attentive I found the person greeting me to be quite dismissive which I did not appreciate but otherwise it was all good. The lady who assisted me with check - out was lovely
Great Hotel and location to AFAS Arena Staff were helpful even when we arrived early
We had a super stay Spacious rooms
Good breakfast
Location was ok
What could be improved: No 24 hour kitchen
Struggled for food at night
Superb Near public transport and quiet.
An excellent choice for family road trips with city breaks A great hotel on the outskirts of the city. I wouldn't say it's much cheaper than in the city center, but there's decent parking (20 euros per night), a spacious room with three full beds, a very comfortable shower, quiet both from the street and from the neighbors, a full breakfast, and a direct metro to the city center, a 5-minute walk away. On our first day, we drove into the city center and paid 60 euros for parking. Then we took the metro, and it was even faster and more convenient, not to mention cheaper.
What could be improved: The pillow isn't exactly comfortable for me, but that's a problem with all hotels. While it's uncomfortable, neither my neck nor my back hurt in the morning. There was a bit of a crowd at breakfast. Some might complain about the limited breakfast selection, but for me, it's perfect. If there were more choices, I would overeat.
Very good - Metro Station very close
- great facilities
- fast check-in and out processes
- clean and well kept
- we didn't try breakfast or food
What could be improved: - industrial neighborhood with construction, dark at night although you don't feel unsafe
- far from Amsterdam city center, we recommend buying the unlimited metro ride plan
Superb The hotel is in a good spot, i slept well. I found the breakfast to be very good as well.
The bathroom and shower area is quite large. Very surprising.
Very good What could be improved: Location
Overall, I would rate my stay as good. The room was very clean, the bed linen was changed daily, and the cleaning was done every day, which was important to me. The metro station is very close to the hotel, which makes it easy to reach the city center quickly despite the long distance.
What could be improved: It was completely impossible to turn off the air conditioning, so it was either too cold or too hot. The neighborhood wasn’t very appealing.
Good The room was comfortable and clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and we paid a fair price for what we got in terms of comfort. The shower and bed in our room were superb!
What could be improved: The hotel is located quite far from the city centre, even though there is a metro station nearby. However, the area seems to be a business state with a lot of commercial and apartment construction happening around but not a lot of people actually living around the premises, so it felt a bit unsafe at times when we had to walk from the metro station at night, as there was not many people around. The décor is a bit "busy" but that's just a personal input.
