First Impressions
Walking into Hampton By Hilton Amsterdam Arena Boulevard, you immediately get that familiar Hampton vibe — clean, modern, and refreshingly straightforward. The lobby’s got this sleek glass-and-steel thing going on that feels contemporary without trying too hard. It’s one of those places where you know exactly what you’re getting, and honestly, sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re dealing with travel fatigue.
The Location Game
Here’s the thing about staying in Zuidoost — you’re not in the heart of tourist Amsterdam, but you’re perfectly positioned if you’re catching a show at Ziggo Dome or have business around the Arena area. The Bijlmer ArenA station is literally a few minutes’ walk away, which means you can hop on the metro and be in Centraal within 15 minutes. There’s actually something nice about coming back to this quieter part of town after a day of navigating the crowds around Dam Square.
Room Essentials
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a three-star Hampton — compact but smartly designed with that signature Hampton bed that’s genuinely comfortable. The desk area works well if you need to get some work done, and the bathroom’s small but functional. You know what I appreciated? The blackout curtains actually work, which isn’t always a given in European hotels. The air conditioning was decent too, though it takes a while to cool things down on those rare hot Amsterdam days.
Food and Practical Stuff
The complimentary breakfast is standard Hampton fare — nothing groundbreaking, but it gets the job done with hot items, decent coffee, and enough variety to fuel your day. There’s a small restaurant area that serves dinner, though I’d honestly recommend exploring the local Indonesian places nearby (this part of Amsterdam has some fantastic Surinamese and Indonesian spots that most tourists never discover). Parking is available on-site, which is actually a big deal in Amsterdam — just factor it into your budget because it’s not cheap.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t going to be the most Instagram-worthy hotel you’ve ever stayed at, but it nails the fundamentals. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay smooth, the location works brilliantly if you’re here for events or want easy access to both the city center and Schiphol, and you’re getting solid value for Amsterdam prices. I mean, you could spend twice as much to stay in a cramped canal house hotel with questionable plumbing, or you could stay here and actually sleep well. For business travelers or anyone who values efficiency over character, this Hampton really delivers on its promises.

What Our Guests Say
Very good It was very convenient for the arena
What could be improved: Expensive
Superb location and breakfast
This has become my go-to choice for accommodations in the area The staff were friendly, and helpful throughout our stay.
This hotel is easily accessible and a short walk from the train station.
Good I had a great stay! The location is excellent — close to everything I needed, including restaurants, shops, and public transport. It made getting around really easy. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the check-in process was smooth. The room was comfortable and well-kept. Overall, a great value for the price. I’d definitely stay here again!
What could be improved: I just wanted to share some honest feedback. The bathroom in my room wasn’t as clean as I expected — there was some dirt or buildup in the corners and on the floor. It wasn’t enough to ruin my stay, but I hope housekeeping can be a little more thorough in the future. Thank you.
Very good Overall good experience and good breakfast. Close to the metro station.
Amsterdam 3 nights Location, personnel
What could be improved: The breakfast could be better, you have to become a an online member of the Hilton hotels to be able to connect to a good speed WiFi.
Perfect for one night It had a full body mirror
What could be improved: The tv didn't work to connect with screen mirroring r casting
Great location with accommodating staff, close to train station and restaurants, good breakfast. Excellent location with great staff.
What could be improved: Room had a slight drainage scent in the bathroom.
Superb The location is key—it’s right next to a train station, so it’s pretty easy to move around the city. Breakfast was a little crowded, and there were only two coffee machines, so we needed to queue for a bit to get our drinks. The staff were amazingly kind and helpful. Overall, I really liked the hotel, the staff, and its location.
Good Almost everything
What could be improved: The omelette and the cheese looked very old. There was no variety in breakfast
