First Impressions
Walking up to Eden Hotel Amsterdam on the Amstel, you know you’ve found something special. This four-star property sits right where the action is — I mean, you’re literally steps from Rembrandtplein and all the canal-side cafés that make Amsterdam so irresistible. The building itself has that classic Dutch elegance without being stuffy about it, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Here’s what I love about this spot — you can walk to the Rijksmuseum in about ten minutes, but you’re also surrounded by the kind of local bars and brown cafés where actual Amsterdammers hang out. The Amstel River is right there, so morning runs along the water become part of your routine. You know what’s really convenient? The tram stops are everywhere around here, so getting to Centraal Station or the Jordaan is effortless.
Inside Story
The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed — typical Amsterdam style where every square meter counts. What impressed me was the attention to detail: good lighting for reading, actual closet space, and a bathroom that didn’t feel like an afterthought. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work, which you don’t always get at mid-range hotels in tourist-heavy areas like this.
Food and Amenities
The breakfast situation is solid — not fancy, but fresh and filling with local touches that matter. There’s a restaurant on-site that serves decent Dutch-international fare, though honestly, with so many great dining options within a two-minute walk, you’ll probably want to explore. The hotel does have parking available, which is actually a big deal in Amsterdam’s city center where finding a spot can be a nightmare.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Eden Hotel Amsterdam isn’t trying to be the flashiest place in town, and that’s exactly why it works. You get a comfortable base in one of the city’s best neighborhoods without paying tourist-trap prices. The 8.1 rating makes sense — guests appreciate the balance of location, service, and value. When you can stumble back from a late dinner in the Leidseplein area or catch an early morning canal cruise without any transit hassle, you start to understand why people return here.
Early hotels booking in Amsterdam secures light festival cruises, jazz club nights, and private cheese-tasting sessions.

What Our Guests Say
We found our stay to be quite enjoyable despite the room size and street noise. Breakfast was satisfactory.
We liked the LOCATION and wonderful, friendly, helpful staff.
We received a comp upgrade which made us very happy
What could be improved: Room size was a little tight - nowhere to store luggage.
Our room was at the backside of the hotel - which presented a noise factor.
Great location, room smaller than expected. Great location, friendly staff.
What could be improved: Room size was smaller than expected....but location offset the room size.
Lovely hotel on the canal Wonderfully friendly staff throughout my stay, great room that was very comfortable
Superb Good size room. Friendly atmosphere. Convenient location.
What could be improved: Tone down the music in the elevators. No refrigerator in the room. The shower design meant the bathroom floor flooded after every shower.
In all the hotels I have stayed In this has to be in the top 3. Could not fault it at all! Location was perfect for all sightseeing, being a max 25 min walk. The staff could not be any better if they tried, each member we came into contact with were very obliging, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and efficient. The hotel is nicely decorated and smelt divine (wish I could buy the smell) the staff were smartly and appropriately dressed and everything was very clean. The breakfast was good quality, fresh food being replenished regularly and lots of choice. The rooms were beautiful, large in size and attention to detail was impressive. I was surprised at how quiet it was, not once did I hear a fellow person be it staff or person staying in the hotel. The curtains made the room lovely and dark and they were big enough not to leave gaps- something I find very rare in hotels!
What could be improved: There was nothing I did not like but what would have been handy was a pair of disposable slippers.
Very good Fantastic location. Room was small but comfortable.
Great place to stay Clean, modern. Check in was really easy and no hassle. Check out was also easy. Shop inside was great
Very good Location
Perfect central stay in a really lovely hotel! Room was beautiful, bar and restaurant areas lovely and location was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Lovely Hotel, great position, would choose a different bedroom next time. The bar and breakfast area was great.
What could be improved: We had a small double, it’s the smallest room I have ever been in, no storage, had to move around one at a time. The bathroom smelt of drains.
