First Impressions
Walking up to Eastendroom on J.F. van Hengelstraat, you’d honestly never guess what you’re about to find inside. The building looks pretty typical for this part of Amsterdam — narrow, brick, nothing too flashy from the street. But step through that front door and you’ll immediately understand why this four-star spot has been getting so much buzz lately. The lobby feels fresh and modern without trying too hard, and there’s this calm energy that just makes you want to drop your bags and exhale.
The Zeeburg Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in Zeeburg — you’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough away that you actually get some peace. The neighborhood has this authentic Amsterdam vibe that the city center lost years ago, you know? You’ve got proper local cafes within walking distance, and the tram connections are actually better than you’d expect. I mean, couples are rating the location 8.8 out of 10, and honestly, I get it. You can walk to the Artis Zoo in about ten minutes, and getting to the Jordaan or Museum Quarter is just a quick tram ride away.
Sleep Like You Mean It
Okay, let’s talk about the beds — because apparently everyone’s been raving about them, and they’re not wrong. My room had this incredibly comfortable mattress that hit that perfect sweet spot between firm and soft. The linens felt expensive (though I have no idea if they actually were), and the pillows… well, let’s just say I slept better than I had in weeks. The rooms themselves are smartly designed too — not huge, but everything has its place, and the windows let in great natural light during the day.
The Details That Matter
What really impressed me were the small touches that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. The Wi-Fi works everywhere (and I mean everywhere — I tested it), there’s plenty of parking nearby if you’re driving, and the staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay smooth. The bathrooms are modern and well-equipped, with decent water pressure and those little amenities that make you feel looked after. Plus, the whole place just feels clean and well-maintained — not in an obsessive way, but in that reassuring way that lets you relax.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Eastendroom isn’t trying to be the fanciest hotel in Amsterdam, and that’s exactly why it works so well. It’s got that 8.7 rating because it delivers on the fundamentals — great sleep, smart location, friendly service — without any of the pretense you sometimes get at pricier places. Whether you’re here for a romantic getaway (seriously, couples seem to adore this place) or just want a solid base for exploring the city, this spot gets the balance right. You’ll wake up refreshed, step out into a genuinely local Amsterdam neighborhood, and feel like you made a smart choice.

What Our Guests Say
Exceptional I really enjoyed my stay in the flat. It was private and quiet. The accommodation had everything I needed, good towels, an iron, a fridge, coffee, and a comfortable bed.
What could be improved: It’s not a problem, just a characteristic... the place is about a 40-minute walk from Amsterdam city center.
Very good Nice bed.
What could be improved: Shower head needs replacing.
The terrace is not private, it's on the street.
All was as expected with additional bonuses. Shops are nearby, naberhood is quiet, weather nice :) Clean, coffee machine, compact but very functional room. Blind gardins are cool to have with sunny weather.

Lovely place Lovely place close to the city center if you take a tram. There’s no kitchen, but everything you need for food preparation is provided. Check-in was super smooth and the host responded very quickly.
Superb Location was slightly out of the centre, but very accessible by public transport. Quiet neighbourhood with friendly people. Good facilities to heat up meals and have breakfast.
Very good Super nice stay with everything we expected. Public transportation and store nearby. The host was very helpful and welcoming.
What could be improved: Could be a little bit noisy from other residents in the apartment building and from the street outside if you decided to sleep in in the morning! 😊
A great little bolt hole in a lovely quiet neighbourhood with easy access to public transport and the city centre. Excellent location close to the tram & easy to get around.
What could be improved: Nothing
