First Impressions
Walking into Citiez Hotel Amsterdam, you immediately get the sense that this is a place that knows exactly what it’s doing. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top — honestly, that’s part of its charm. The lobby has this clean, modern feel without being sterile, and the staff genuinely seems happy to see you. I mean, you can tell when hotel employees are just going through the motions, but here they actually engage with guests in a way that feels natural.
Location & Getting Around
The Osdorp area might not be the first neighborhood that comes to mind when you think of Amsterdam, but that’s actually what makes it work so well. You’re away from the tourist chaos of the city center, yet you can still reach all the main attractions easily by tram or metro. What I really appreciated was having free parking — and trust me, if you’ve ever tried to park in central Amsterdam, you know this is basically like finding gold. The location gets an 8.4 rating from recent guests, and couples especially seem to love it here, which makes sense given how peaceful the area feels compared to the busier parts of town.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a solid three-star property — comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully designed without unnecessary frills. The bed was genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and there’s enough space to actually unpack your suitcase without feeling cramped. You know what I noticed? The little details like good lighting for reading and outlets where you actually need them. It’s clear someone put thought into how people really use hotel rooms, not just how they look in photos.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast setup here is honestly better than it needs to be for a three-star place. They do both continental and buffet options, so whether you’re the type who just wants coffee and a pastry or someone who needs a proper meal to start the day, you’re covered. The quality is solid — fresh bread, good coffee, and they actually have local touches that make it feel like you’re in the Netherlands rather than some generic international hotel. I found myself lingering over breakfast longer than usual, which is always a good sign.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it balances being a proper hotel with feeling approachable and unpretentious. The 8.3 overall rating reflects what you experience — it’s the kind of place where everything just works without drama. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or celebrity chef restaurants, but you get reliable comfort, genuinely helpful service, and that rare combination of being both well-located and reasonably priced. For couples especially, it offers that sweet spot of being romantic without being overly touristy, and practical without being boring.
Hotels near me in Amsterdam offer swift tram hops to Rijksmuseum halls, De Pijp brunch counters, and ferry piers to NDSM.

What Our Guests Say
It was convenient and good value. I love how clean it is. Location and cleanliness
What could be improved: Breakfast and darkness of the lobby.
It’s a nice hotel, but quite expensive (like everything in Amsterdam) The location, the beds, the coffee machine in the room, the staff
What could be improved: There is a night light in the room you can’t switch off.
The breakfast doesn’t have enough vegan options.
Fab short stay The free parking was what made me choose this hotel. Although slightly out of the city centre, it was only a 20min tram ride. The surrounding area was good as had shopping centre and supermarkets. We knew the rooms were going to be small and for a couple of nights it was ok but if staying longer, I would recommend a bigger room.
3-day trip to Amsterdam - Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Location very convenient next to tram station, shops and restaurants
- Free parking in nearby garage (you get 1 exit ticket for free, which is enough when you don't need the car daily)
- Breakfast was OK
- Room was comfortable and quiet
What could be improved: - Bathroom door just glas, not closing properly
Comfortable and convenient stay. Staff were very friendly; room was comfortable and convenient location.
Great hotel and price Clean, very helpful staff and good vibe. Breakfast excellent and very close to tram to access central Amsterdam. All rooms 14sq meters and not a problem for us but some won’t like it.
What could be improved: Calm haven well you feel comfortable and supported.
Fantastic except not soundproof Location wasn't too bad as there was a lot nearby, and a good tram route right beside it
What could be improved: Walls weren't soundproof as it says in the listing
Good budget option! Very comfy bed!
What could be improved: No rails or handles in the shower. It's very slippery if you are disabled.
Everything was very nice. The approach of the team was very professional and kindness. Thank see you It was the excellent hotel, I will try to coming again with my daughter before the end of this year. Thanks for the quality of service.
What could be improved: A slight smell in the sink and the shower, nothing to worry about.
Great little room for a great little price Very friendly staff and clean rooms, cute theme with the cities
What could be improved: Small room, but that was expected, so nothing!
