First Impressions
Bed of Roses sits on a quiet stretch of Rozenstraat, and honestly, you’d walk right past it if you weren’t looking. The entrance is understated in that typically Dutch way — no flashy signage or doormen, just a charming canal house facade that blends seamlessly with the neighborhood. I actually appreciated this low-key approach after dealing with the tourist crowds just a few blocks away.
Perfect Canal Ring Location
The location is what really got me excited about this place. You’re smack in the middle of Amsterdam‘s canal ring, which means you can walk to the Anne Frank House in about eight minutes, hit the Jordaan district for dinner, or catch a tram to the museum quarter without any hassle. What I loved most was stepping out in the morning to grab coffee — there’s this little local café around the corner that serves proper Dutch breakfast, and you know what, barely any tourists know about it.
The Room Experience
My room was on the third floor (no elevator, fair warning), and it had that perfect balance of historic charm and modern comfort. The windows opened right onto the canal, and I spent way too much time just watching the boats drift by. The four-star rating feels spot-on — everything works perfectly, the bed is ridiculously comfortable, but it’s not trying to be something it’s not. The bathroom was compact but cleverly designed, with a rainfall shower that actually had decent pressure.
Service That Actually Cares
The staff here genuinely seem to care about your stay, which isn’t always a given in Amsterdam’s busy center. They gave me restaurant recommendations that were clearly chosen for quality, not kickbacks — I mean, one place they suggested was this tiny Indonesian spot that doesn’t even have a proper sign. The front desk team also helped me figure out the best walking route to avoid the crowds around Dam Square, which saved me about twenty minutes each day.
Why Guests Love It
Look, if you want a pool or room service, this isn’t your place. But if you want to actually experience Amsterdam like someone who lives here — walking the canals at dawn, discovering hidden brown cafés, feeling like you’re part of the neighborhood rather than just passing through — then Bed of Roses nails it. The 9.4 rating makes perfect sense once you’re there; it’s one of those places that just gets the balance right between authentic Amsterdam charm and genuine comfort.
Savvy travelers reserve a hotel in Amsterdam before autumn brings golden leaves, pumpkin soups, and cozy canal reflections.

What Our Guests Say
A beautiful stay It was quite yet well connected to all happening areas. Easy access to public transportation. The hosts were very helpful . Came home with fond memories
What could be improved: The winding stairs , could do with another shower n toilet
Lovely location for a break in Amsterdam The apartment was in a great location, residential but within an easy walk to the busy areas of Amsterdam. And I loved having an outside garden space :)
What could be improved: Upon our initial arrival, the apartment had a ‘basement’ feel. Once we got used to this, it was a great place and we enjoyed our stay.
Excellent accommodation in Jordaan district Great location
Great 😊 Location was good, nice spacious apartment. Hosts are lovely. Netflix account to watch on the tv as well as internet was also great 😊
What could be improved: Would have loved a washing machine and an oven, but other than that the apartment was great.
Superb Great location and very helpful hosts
Exceptional The property is beautiful and Rene was very helpful and friendly , going out of his way to make our stay an amazing one. The beds are very comfortable and the garden is a lovely addition , highly recommend .
What could be improved: I cannot fault bed of roses,
Great place! Spacious, clean, with a very well-equipped kitchen and all toiletries/ linen provided.
Really close to city centre on foot and tram stop just around the corner.
Friendly owner lives next door but never disturbed us, and responded really quickly to texts when we arrived.
Lovely place!
What could be improved: The stairs to lounge and bedroom are steep and curved.
Slightly more expensive than we wanted, but was worth every penny !
Charming Jordaan Retreat – Perfect Location, Immaculate Stay! This home was an absolute gem! The location couldn't have been better—right in the heart of the Jordaan district, with charming canals, cozy cafes, and boutique shops just steps away. Despite being centrally located, the area was peaceful and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring Amsterdam.
The apartment itself was immaculate—super clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. From the cozy bed to the well-stocked kitchen, every detail was thoughtfully arranged.
Check-in was seamless, and the host was incredibly responsive, ensuring that our stay was perfect from start to finish. If you're looking for an exceptional place to stay in Amsterdam, this is it. Highly recommend!
What could be improved: Nothing
Just vibes - i could spend all day on the terrace. Everything! The garden is such a vibe and the apartment is very huge and cozy. We were really really happy with the apartment you can’t miss if you book it. They even have netflix if you wanna chill in the evening after a long day of sightseeing.

A fantastic and spacious place to stay The place was spacious and clean, great to come back to after hours of walking, and there were extra touches such as tea and coffee provided. The host was lovely and we were also able to leave our luggage there after checkout on the last day. There was a great little Dutch pub around the corner that we stumbled across on our last day Cafe Pierewaaier!
What could be improved: It was a bit of a walk to get places but I think that’s the nature of Amsterdam, and we preferred that over having a small hotel room
