First Impressions
Walking up to Bed & Breakfast of Art on Korte Prinsengracht, you immediately know this isn’t your typical four-star hotel. The narrow canal house facade is classic Amsterdam — those steep stairs and crooked doorways that make you wonder how they ever got furniture inside. What sets this place apart is right there in the name, honestly — there’s art everywhere, and I mean thoughtfully curated pieces, not just random prints slapped on walls. The entrance feels more like stepping into a gallery owner’s private home than a commercial property.
Location & Neighborhood
You’re basically in the heart of everything here, which explains why couples rate this spot so highly. Korte Prinsengracht puts you within walking distance of the Anne Frank House (though you’ll still need to book tickets way ahead), and the Jordaan district is right around the corner with its cozy brown cafés and weekend markets. What I really appreciate is that you’re close enough to the action but on a quieter canal — you won’t have groups of tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM. The nearest tram stop is maybe a three-minute walk, so getting around the city is actually pretty effortless.
The Room Experience
Each room here feels like staying in someone’s carefully designed art studio. The ceilings are higher than you’d expect in these old canal houses, and the windows — well, they frame the canal views perfectly. Don’t expect huge spaces (this is Amsterdam, after all), but everything feels intentional and well-thought-out. The beds are genuinely comfortable, and the bathrooms manage to feel modern while respecting the building’s character. You know what surprised me? The soundproofing is actually decent, considering these houses are centuries old.
Breakfast & Daily Rhythms
The breakfast setup is where this place really shows its B&B roots — it’s served in a communal area that doubles as an art gallery space. Fresh pastries, good coffee, and usually some local cheeses and meats that change based on what’s seasonal. The hosts clearly know their neighborhood well and aren’t shy about sharing recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist spots. I mean, they pointed me toward a tiny bookshop café that I never would’ve found otherwise. The whole morning routine feels relaxed, like you’re staying with friends who happen to have excellent taste.
Why Guests Love It
This place works because it strikes that perfect balance between authentic Amsterdam character and actual comfort. You’re not sacrificing modern amenities for charm — you’re getting both. The art theme isn’t gimmicky; it creates this atmosphere where you feel like you’re experiencing the city’s creative side from the moment you wake up. Plus, the location really can’t be beat for exploring on foot, and the hosts genuinely care about making sure you have a good stay. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next Amsterdam trip before you’ve even checked out.

What Our Guests Say
Great location. Handy to train station. Right in the edge to all the shopping you need, Querky
Perfect The room was very spacious, clean, beautifully furnished, and the host was very friendly.
In addition to a kettle, there was plenty of coffee and tea, some sweets, juice, wine, and the necessary cutlery. Comfortable toiletries, plenty of towels, and informational materials were also provided.
The welcome was very warm and provided all the necessary information.
The private entrance ensured complete privacy.
The location is fantastic; there are many restaurants and shops nearby, and all the tourist attractions are easily accessible on foot or by public transportation, with the bus stop very close by. Despite this, the street directly in front of the house is quite quiet. The windows overlook the inner courtyard.
Exceptional Property was perfect, the owner is a fantastic lady, she is very welcoming, helpful and she’s a great artist. The paintings around the room are done by her and they are so good! The property is very well decorated and includes everything you need for a short stay in Amsterdam. We will definitely return to this accommodation, thank you so much, we loved it.
Great central Amsterdam city location, close to central train station, room with bathroom and toilet in beautifully reno Location was the best, owner was hospitable, wine was nice bonus, very large bedroom with very comfortable king size bed in beautifully renovated house originally built centuries ago. Fridge & electric jug to make tea & instant coffee.
What could be improved: Steep stairs to enter, toilet separate to bathroom with entry to upstairs in the middle, no power point in bathroom for hairdryer.
Perfect location, comfy and spacious room but a bit dark. Location was excellent. Walking distance to,all the sites of Amsterdam.
The room was very large for Amsterdam. Comfy bed .
Carla was very friendly and helpful.
What could be improved: Quite dark as the 2 windows were quite small.
Was supplied tea and coffee cups but no cloth or washing up liquid to wash them so couldn’t wipe the kitchen table down either.
The room being large could use a small couch to sit on as there was only a bed or 2 kitchen chairs.
Great spot, will definitely be back when in the area! A hidden gem, with a friendly and charming host.
A very spacious, clean and comfortable room with large bathroom, coupled with a very nice king-size bed.
