This three-star apartment sits right in the heart of Oud-West, and you can literally see the greenery of Vondelpark from the windows. The building itself has that classic Amsterdam charm, though it’s not trying to be anything fancy.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re actually in a proper Amsterdam neighborhood, not some tourist bubble. Amsterdam‘s Oud-West is where locals hang out, and you’ll find yourself walking past Dutch families heading to the park with their bikes and dogs. The Vondelpark entrance is maybe a two-minute stroll, which means morning jogs or evening walks become second nature. Plus, the tram connections here are solid — you can get to the city center without much fuss.
The Space
The two-floor setup actually works really well. Downstairs you’ve got your living area and kitchen — nothing fancy, but everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the Albert Heijn down the street instead of eating out every meal. Upstairs is where the bedrooms are, and honestly, having that separation makes it feel more like a real home than a typical hotel room. The windows are decent-sized, so you get good natural light during the day.
Practical Details
What surprised me was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re in such a central area. I mean, you’ll hear the occasional tram, but it’s not disruptive. The WiFi works fine — I had no issues working from the dining table when I needed to. One thing to note: this isn’t the kind of place with daily housekeeping or a front desk, so you’re pretty much on your own once you check in. Some people love that independence, others might miss the hotel services.

Very good What could be improved: There was relatively cold.
We enjoyed the location and the apartment was clean and pretty. Just a few quirks to get use to! Nice area. Central, but not in the heart of the action. Close to a variety of shops and tram stations.
What could be improved: The apartment did not have a microwave or stove/oven, so couldn't really "self-cater". Lots of narrow stairs (outside flat and inside), so difficult to carry large suitcases up and down. Odd lighting, with downstairs-bathroom light switch located outside front door, and dining table light connected to hallway light (so ground floor residents can turn it on or off). The bedrooms face the backyards of several apartments, so if people (children) are socialising late (we were there in summer, so light until 10/11pm), it's difficult to have a quiet evening when going to bed.

What could be improved: Had to constantly remind my kids to walk down the stairs gently as there is tenant living below and the walls are quite thin. Other than that, all is well.
Perfect location The location is great, very close to everything, and the neighborhood around Vondel Park is beautiful. The apartment is nicely decorated with thoughtful details and art.
What could be improved: It was quite cold in the apartment and the water was dripping in both bathrooms. A microwave would be very helpful as well as more kitchen utensils (knives, kitchen cloths etc.)
Great location, and with a few more amenities would be a 10/10! The apartment's location is great, at the heart of Vondelpark. The proximity to a grocery store, the tram, and many other destinations was wonderful when traveling with a baby. The internet connection was good. The stairs are steep for anyone not coming from NL but they're manageable, even with luggage.
What could be improved: The kitchenette could easily accommodate a microwave, toaster oven, and/or single burner. In traveling with a baby we had no way of heating up his bottles. There were several previous reviews that mentioned a shortage of linens; we hopped that this would have been addressed but there was only one provided dish towel in the kitchen, none for hand drying in either bathroom. We didn't need additional blankets but a throw on the couch would have been welcome. A few more hooks in the bedrooms for hanging clothes would be helpful too.

Great apartment in a top location Spacious gem of an apartment about 5 minutes walk from Leidseplein so easy to get to by tram and a short distance to all the bars and entertainment, the foodhallen, museums and the vondelpark.
What could be improved: We had a dripping tap in the upstairs bathroom which was a little noisy the first night but we found a cloth to absorb the sound and it was fine

What could be improved: The two sets of very steep stairs, although authentic, had to be carefully managed. There is no microwave or toaster oven so you really only save money on breakfast. I couldn’t get the tv or clothes dryer to work. Not critical but disappointing.

Very convenient location, neat apartment and very welcoming host. The ambiance of this apartment, the authenticity, and cleanliness. We liked the facilities provided. The host was very responsive and communicated details on how to access the apartment and accommodated our request to check in at a very late arrival (around 2 am) with some considerations to the neighborhood. The apartment was a Dutch house: you open the door to the staircase to reach the first floor which consists of a kitchenette, and a cozy sofa bed in the living room; for the 2nd floor, you climb the stairs to the 2 bedrooms, storage room, and a spacious bathroom.
