First Impressions
Walking up to B&B Wladimir Studios on Lijnbaansgracht, you immediately get that “this is the real Amsterdam” feeling. The building sits right along one of those classic canals that actually locals use — not just the touristy ones everyone photographs. It’s a four-star place that honestly feels more intimate than most hotels, which makes sense since it’s structured more like a boutique guesthouse. The entrance has this understated charm that doesn’t scream “tourist trap,” and I appreciated that right away.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I love about the location — you’re genuinely in Amsterdam City Centre, but on a street where people actually live and work. Lijnbaansgracht runs parallel to the main tourist drags, so you get all the accessibility without the constant crowds outside your window. The Leidseplein area is maybe a five-minute walk, and you can easily reach the museum district or the Jordaan neighborhood on foot. Couples seem to particularly love this spot (they rate it 9.5, which honestly makes sense), probably because it feels romantic without being overly precious about it.
The Studios Themselves
The room I stayed in was what they call a studio, and it actually lived up to that name — there’s enough space to spread out a bit, which you don’t always get in Amsterdam accommodations. What really stood out was the bed situation; they’ve clearly invested in proper mattresses and bedding because I slept incredibly well. You know how sometimes hotel beds are either too soft or feel like sleeping on cardboard? This was neither — just genuinely comfortable. The setup feels more like a well-designed apartment than a typical hotel room, with thoughtful touches that make longer stays feel natural.
Neighborhood Life
One thing I noticed during my stay was how the area comes alive at different times of day. Mornings are quiet and local — you’ll see people heading to work, grabbing coffee from the corner spots that aren’t in guidebooks. Evenings bring a different energy, with the nearby bars and cafes filling up with a mix of locals and visitors who’ve figured out this part of town. There’s a great little market nearby, and honestly, just wandering the immediate streets gives you that authentic Amsterdam experience without having to venture far from your base.
Why Guests Love It
The location score of 9.6 isn’t just marketing fluff — it’s because you’re positioned perfectly to experience Amsterdam like someone who actually lives here, while still being steps away from everything you want to see. The combination of genuinely comfortable accommodations and this ideal spot on Lijnbaansgracht creates something that feels special without trying too hard. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying longer than planned, not because there’s so much to do right there, but because it becomes a perfect home base for exploring the city at your own pace.
Exploring Amsterdam mixes canal loops, design galleries, and pancake barges drifting past houseboats.

What Our Guests Say
Exceptional Just a really cool place with plenty of space in a vibey area. No shortcomings, just the ideal place to be in Amsterdam
We had a great time and enjoyed the spot. Great location, very quiet and peaceful at night when classes weren’t on. Bed was large and comfortable and the shower was great.
What could be improved: Room was connected to a dance studio and you could hear the classes running. Classes some nights can run until 10pm so something to be aware of.
Exceptional Great accommodation,
close enough to the city center to walk and explore the sights.
Bus from the airport stops virtually at the door.
Friendly host. Highly recommend.
Very good It was very close to public transport
Exceptional Amazing location. This apartment is amazing. Very comfortable and spacious. The owner's are awesome as well.
What could be improved: Nothing
Awesome would definitely use this stay again. The location was fantastic, easy access to all the best ,shopping ,restaurants,
Museums the area is safe at night & spot on for transport to & from Schiphol bus 397 is excellent valve.
What could be improved: Not much only the stairs are a bit challenging maybe for older
Folk but not use.
Spoil of a stay in a relative central position Very comfortable bed and bathroom. Great location. Luxurious towels. Bus to airport stops across the channel.
What could be improved: Kitchenette is squeezed in in a passage
Lovely stay in Central Amsterdam Large flat, wonderful location just across the canal. Very central, fantastic to walk around Amsterdam, near many shops and nice restaurants. The decoration was quite nice as well. Nice bathroom, lovely bedding etc.
What could be improved: I think we expected more natural light. Don’t get me wrong, it has big windows and natural light, but the view is to walls. It’s a wonderful apartment though and we thought good value for money due to size and location. You are right across the canal, so you can just go downstairs and sit down for relaxing views. It’s like the canal is your balcony. 😌 We strongly recommend the property giving two keys to guests though as there is no 24h reception at the building.
A gem in the city! Must stay! Excellent all around. It's a great place, location and exactly perfect for exploring the city. I highly recommend and can't wait to return!
What could be improved: Nothing!
Fabulous location. Walk to everything. Easy communication with owner. Walking distance to all the main attractions in the city. Clean and comfortable.
