This four-star bed and breakfast feels more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed home than a typical hotel. The owners clearly put thought into every detail — from the moment you walk through the front door, you can tell this isn’t your standard Amsterdam accommodation.

Geuzenveld-Slotermeer isn’t where most tourists end up, but that’s actually what I loved about it. You’re in real Amsterdam here, where locals grab their morning coffee and kids bike to school. The nearby Sloterpark (yes, the B&B takes its name from the park) is perfect for morning runs or just escaping the city buzz. It’s about a 15-minute tram ride to the center, which means you get the best of both worlds — easy access to all the tourist stuff, but you can actually sleep at night.

Your Space

The room I stayed in was spotless and surprisingly spacious for Amsterdam standards. Each guest space has its own character — mine had this great reading nook by the window where I’d sit with coffee in the mornings. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not always a given at B&Bs), and the Wi-Fi actually works everywhere, which you know matters when you’re trying to plan your day.
