First Impressions
You know what surprised me about B&B Amsterdam Amstel Apartment? It’s not just another cramped city center space trying to pass itself off as something special. This four-star place actually delivers on the promise of being a proper apartment — I mean, you get real living space here, not just a glorified hotel room with a tiny table shoved in the corner.
The Space Itself
The room setup honestly feels more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed flat than a typical B&B. There’s a proper kitchen where you can actually cook something decent (though with Amsterdam’s food scene right outside, you might not want to). The whole place has this clean, modern Dutch aesthetic — nothing flashy, just thoughtfully designed spaces that make sense.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about being right on Amstel — you’re literally in the heart of Amsterdam without feeling like you’re trapped in tourist central. I could walk to the Rembrandtplein in about three minutes, but the street itself has this nice residential feel. The canal views from some windows are pretty spectacular, especially if you catch the evening light hitting the water just right.
Local Insights
What I really appreciated was having that parking sorted out — because let’s be honest, driving in Amsterdam can be a nightmare if you don’t know where you’re going. The hosts clearly understand what travelers actually need. There’s a decent restaurant called Café de Reiger just a few blocks away that locals frequent — way better than the obvious tourist spots you’ll find closer to Dam Square.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this place works because it doesn’t try too hard. You get the independence of having your own space with the personal touches of a good B&B. The 9.6 rating makes sense when you experience it — it’s not perfect, but it gets the important stuff right. Plus, honestly, finding a place this well-located that doesn’t feel like you’re paying premium prices just for the address is pretty rare in Amsterdam these days.

Wonderful stay in Amsterdam Wonderful house, equipped with every comfort; it truly has it all! Dorine is always available and kind to answer any questions. The location is 2 metro stops from the center, a 30-minute walk. The price isn't cheap, but it's worth it.

Besides that, the apartment is stunning with a magical view of the canal. Even though it rained, we were encouraged that it was in such a spacious and pleasant apartment.
