Walking into art’otel amsterdam, Powered by Radisson Hotels feels like stepping into someone’s incredibly well-curated art collection — except you get to sleep there. The lobby immediately sets the tone with rotating contemporary pieces that actually make you stop and look, not just walk past. It’s this four-star property that manages to feel both polished and approachable, which honestly isn’t easy to pull off in Amsterdam.

Location & Getting Around

You’re right on Prins Hendrikkade, which means you’re basically in the thick of everything without being on one of those tourist-packed streets where you can barely walk. The Central Station is about a five-minute stroll, and I mean that literally — I’ve timed it. What’s great is you can easily grab trams to anywhere in the city, but you’re also close enough to walk to the Red Light District or the Jordaan if that’s your thing. The canal ring starts practically at your doorstep.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had this interesting mix of contemporary design and subtle art pieces — nothing too overwhelming, but definitely more thoughtful than your typical hotel art. The beds are properly comfortable, and the bathroom setup actually works for two people getting ready at the same time. There’s decent storage space, which you appreciate after living out of a suitcase for a few days, and the windows are well-insulated so you’re not hearing every tram that goes by.

The restaurant downstairs serves solid international fare — nothing groundbreaking, but well-executed and reasonably priced for Amsterdam standards. The breakfast spread is comprehensive enough that you won’t leave hungry, though it’s not going to blow your mind either.
