First Impressions
Walking into art’otel amsterdam, Powered by Radisson Hotels feels like stepping into someone’s incredibly well-curated art collection — except you get to sleep there. The lobby immediately sets the tone with rotating contemporary pieces that actually make you stop and look, not just walk past. It’s this four-star property that manages to feel both polished and approachable, which honestly isn’t easy to pull off in Amsterdam.
Location & Getting Around
You’re right on Prins Hendrikkade, which means you’re basically in the thick of everything without being on one of those tourist-packed streets where you can barely walk. The Central Station is about a five-minute stroll, and I mean that literally — I’ve timed it. What’s great is you can easily grab trams to anywhere in the city, but you’re also close enough to walk to the Red Light District or the Jordaan if that’s your thing. The canal ring starts practically at your doorstep.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this interesting mix of contemporary design and subtle art pieces — nothing too overwhelming, but definitely more thoughtful than your typical hotel art. The beds are properly comfortable, and the bathroom setup actually works for two people getting ready at the same time. There’s decent storage space, which you appreciate after living out of a suitcase for a few days, and the windows are well-insulated so you’re not hearing every tram that goes by.
Dining & Social Spaces
The restaurant downstairs serves solid international fare — nothing groundbreaking, but well-executed and reasonably priced for Amsterdam standards. What I really liked was the bar area, which becomes this nice social hub in the evenings. You’ll find a mix of guests and locals, which always makes for better people-watching. The breakfast spread is comprehensive enough that you won’t leave hungry, though it’s not going to blow your mind either.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t trying to be the most luxurious place in Amsterdam, and that’s actually what works about it. The art concept gives it personality without being pretentious, the location puts you right where you want to be, and the staff seems to genuinely care about making your stay work. I’ve stayed here twice now, and both times I felt like I was staying somewhere that understood what travelers actually need — good sleep, easy access to the city, and a space that doesn’t feel generic. For the price point and the neighborhood, it’s honestly hard to beat.
Exploring Amsterdam blends gabled houses, world-class museums, and vibrant neighborhoods glowing with canal lights.

What Our Guests Say
Superb I love a boutique hotel and so the artsy vibe that is art'otel was ideal. I love that they have an art gallery on site. The bar and restaurant are also top, We enjoyed cocktails and bites at the ARCA bar. The rooms were well decorated and equipped. Overall a great city escape.
Friendliest staff Perfect staff
What could be improved: All good. No balcony at room. You can't open the windows.
Amazing stay highly recommended.. Everything , clean , attention to details , location .. very helpful staff and always cheerful
What could be improved: Cant think of anything
BEST LOCATION IN AMSTERDAM Everything — the location was perfect, the facilities were excellent, the furniture was modern and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
What could be improved: Nothing worth mentioning — everything met or exceeded my expectations.
Superb Wonderful staff! Beautiful hotel
What could be improved: When I took the shower the water came out. I had to put a lot of towels outside to keep the bathroom dry
Exceptional Lovely hotel, great staff,
Exceptional Loved the location ,spacious room, comfortable bed and the amazing staff
Superb Location
Quiet
What could be improved: Expensive
It was very smooth from check in, breakfast and check out. Staff was extremely friendly. Close to Central train station so you can walk from train to the hotel and it is easy to locate.
Breakfast was very good. There was a lot of variety and the food was good. Service was also excellent.
The room was extremely nice.
Great location to walk to bars, shops and restaurants.
Ability to rent bikes from the hotel is a plus.
What could be improved: UBER drivers and tourist van drivers can not pick up or drop off at this hotel because it is on a "walking" street. Somehow Taxis where able to pick up and drop off.
Great staff, I loved their energy. Ryan and Anna were a credit to your hotel. It was quirky, unusual, I loved the sculptures and the art work.
What could be improved: Not a biggie at all, but the close up little mirror on the wall was floppy.
