It’s positioned right on Stadhouderskade, which honestly took me a moment to pronounce correctly, but the location is absolutely perfect for exploring Amsterdam.
Location & Neighborhood
This five-star hotel sits in the Oud-West district, and I mean this in the best way — you’re close enough to everything but not drowning in tourist crowds. The Leidseplein area is literally a five-minute walk, where you’ll find those famous brown cafés and late-night energy. What I really appreciated was how easy it became to hop on a tram or just walk to the museum quarter — the Van Gogh Museum is practically around the corner.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the canal, which honestly made waking up feel like a small luxury each morning. Everything felt thoughtfully designed — from the marble bathroom to the comfortable work desk that actually had proper lighting. The bed was that perfect balance of firm and soft, and you know what surprised me? The soundproofing was excellent despite being on a busy street.

I had dinner there twice, which says something since Amsterdam has incredible dining options everywhere. The concierge team actually gave me restaurant recommendations that locals would approve of, not just the obvious tourist spots.

What could be improved: There was a discrepancy with the information we received about the dog fee and the initial conversation over the phone with the front desk was unpleasant but the manager handled it very well upon our arrival.
Would recommend and stay again! Nice view from the room overlooking towards center city, clean and comfy. The staff was quite exceptional, from check in to porters to the help they offered if we needed a taxi. Felt very safe as well. The chocolate bars and bottles of water were a great touch, in addition to the tea kettle that was in the room!
What could be improved: More storage/drawers in the room, didnt have many places for 4 adults to keep their things during the stay.
