Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re literally in Amsterdam City Centre, but on a side street that doesn’t get the constant flow of tourists dragging suitcases over cobblestones at 7 AM. Dam Square is maybe a three-minute walk, and you can reach the Anne Frank House in about ten minutes if you cut through the right alleys. The nearest tram stop is close enough that you don’t think twice about hopping over to Museumplein or the Jordaan.
The Room Experience
My room was one of those spaces that makes you realize how much you don’t actually need — compact but thoughtfully laid out, with everything positioned exactly where it should be. The windows open onto either the street or the inner courtyard, and honestly, both have their charm depending on whether you want to people-watch or just have some quiet. The beds are proper comfortable, not just Amsterdam-apartment comfortable, and the shower pressure is surprisingly strong for a historic building.
Practical Details
What struck me most was how smoothly everything worked. The Wi-Fi doesn’t drop every time someone in the next room turns on a hairdryer, which seems minor until you’re trying to video call home. There’s no on-site restaurant, but you’re surrounded by cafés and brown bars — I mean, you’re staying in Amsterdam City Centre, so why would you want to eat hotel food anyway? They handle luggage storage without making it feel like a huge favor, which matters when you’ve got a late flight.

I think what keeps people coming back here is the balance — you get that central Amsterdam experience without the chaos of staying right on a main canal or tourist strip. The staff knows the neighborhood well enough to point you toward the good stroopwafel place (not the tourist trap one) and the brown café where locals actually drink. Great location by the Flowermarket This apartment was close to lots of things it was spacious and had heat and air conditioning as well as a lovely large bathroom. There is tea and coffee, a fridge, and a little table to eat at if you like. Jeremy met us and helped us carry our luggage up the Dutch stairs. He was super pleasant.
What could be improved: This property has very steep narrow stairs so don't come with large luggage or if you are afraid of heights or not in shape. There is a very active street with bars behind the house and the noise bothered my husband even with ear plugs that were provided but it didn't bother me without ear plugs.
Convenient, quiet, comfy, great stay! Amazing location, easy to walk to all the major attractions. Clean room with a comfy bed and nice bathroom. The room was very quiet even though there are restaurants downstairs (there was a bit of noise one night/morning from upstairs but not bad). The kitchenette was really handy for keeping a few breakfast essentials - most accommodation we looked at didn't have this. We arrived to Amsterdam by plane, caught the train to the central station, then a tram, then it was a short walk to the apartment, very easy! The apartment is very secure and we felt safe walking around the area and everywhere in Amsterdam. Just be aware that the only access to the apartment is very steep stairs. Ernesto was very happy to help us with our bags but I think access would be too difficult for older travellers. We would highly recommend this accommodation, thank you Ernesto!
Convenient location with a great host! Ernesto was such a nice host! He was responsive and always willing to help. The room looked just like the pictures and we had everything we needed. The location is convenient with lots of restaurants nearby.
What could be improved: The stairs are quite steep and it took some effort to get our luggage down, but it wasn't a problem for us. This is just a heads up for anybody with mobility issues.
Exceptional We had the most amazing stay at this apartment; this place is conveniently located next to the Flower market, which is right in the center of the city, we were able to walk everywhere from the apartment, lots of restaurants around, very safe location. We loved the apartment, it's a very cozy place in a historical building. Very clean, comfy and excellent service. Ernesto gave us a great welcome and gave us a few tips for our stay in the city, he was a great host, we were traveling celebrating our anniversary and he surprised us with a beautiful bucket of flowers and some treats. Highly recommend this stay!
Very comfortable garret room in a great location for transport and food. It had everything one could need for a comfortable stay including a host who was extremely accommodating.
What could be improved: The three flight of stairs could be a problem for some but they were not for us.

Great location next to the flower market with plenty of bars & restaurants around us. Ear plugs were a thoughtful touch but were not needed due to the great windows, we didn't hear a thing.

We loved Amsterdam!!! The room was large with a kitchenette. It was nice to have help with the bags up the steep staircase. The location was great for walking everywhere. Ernesto was always available and helped us arrange a taxi-€75.
What could be improved: It is very close to a bar that grinds out a heavy beat until 2-3:00 on weekends at least because that is when we were there. You are thoughtfully provided with earplugs which help some. The other downside is the sewer odor that emanates from the bathroom. The building is old so it happens. They do what they can with scent sticks and toilet scent that releases when flushed. We kept the door closed.
Superb Clean, spacious, beds really comfortable.
