Amsterdam Farmland
First Impressions When I first pulled up to Amsterdam Farmland, I honestly wasn't sure what to expect.
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Amsterdam Farmland, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. The name had me curious, and the location in Amsterdam Noord definitely feels like you’re stepping away from the tourist chaos. This four-star place sits right in Bloemendalergouw, which — I’ll be honest — I had to ask for directions to find the first time. But that’s actually part of its charm.
Location & Getting Around
Amsterdam Noord is having this whole renaissance moment, and you can feel it when you’re staying here. The hotel’s tucked into what feels like a residential pocket, but you’re not stuck in the middle of nowhere. There’s this great sense of being in “real” Amsterdam rather than the postcard version. The ferry connections back to Centraal Station work better than you’d think, and honestly, that little boat ride becomes part of your daily routine in the best way.
The Room Experience
My room had this interesting balance — modern without trying too hard, comfortable without being fancy. The windows actually open (which you don’t always get), and there’s decent space to spread out your stuff. What I appreciated was the attention to small details — good lighting for actually reading, proper hooks for hanging things, that sort of practical thoughtfulness that makes a difference when you’re living somewhere for a few days.
Amenities & Dining
The breakfast situation is solid — not groundbreaking, but they do the Dutch basics well, plus enough international options that you won’t get bored. There’s a restaurant on-site that I tried once, and it was better than I expected for hotel dining. They seem to source locally, which fits the whole Noord vibe. The parking situation is refreshingly straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in Amsterdam will appreciate.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing about Amsterdam Farmland — it gives you that “living like a local” feeling without sacrificing the hotel comforts you actually want. The 9.2 rating makes sense when you stay here; it’s not trying to be the flashiest place in the city, but it delivers on what it promises. You get Noord’s creative energy and that slightly off-the-beaten-path authenticity, plus you can still reach the Jordaan or the museums without much hassle. It’s the kind of place that grows on you.

What Our Guests Say
The location, the property owner and the atmosphere are fantastic! I would love to visit again. location, environment and breakfast
Perfect Spacious, clean and comfortable, good host
we hope to return again soon, perhaps in warmer weather! A Wonderful Stay Close to Amsterdam
We recently spent a couple of days in Amsterdam with our family and chose to stay at a charming farm just 10 minutes away from the city. It turned out to be an excellent choice!
Hansje is an amazing host—so kind, welcoming, and attentive. The room was spotless, tidy, and warm, providing the perfect retreat from the winter weather. Breakfast was an absolute highlight: delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared.
Although the winter season didn't allow us to fully enjoy the outdoor surroundings, the cozy atmosphere inside made up for it. Everything about our stay was perfect, and we couldn't be happier with the experience.
We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful, comfortable, and authentic stay near Amsterdam. Thank you, Hansje, for making our trip so memorable!
Really enjoyed it! Clean, very nice host and breakfast. Recommend for no more than 3 people.
What could be improved: Description is a bit misleading, it is not a separate house.
Enjoyable and loved the traditional location. The breakfast every morning was lovely. Always a slight difference on each day with the fruit selection and pastry so we had a surprise every day as what we were having. There was always plenty of food and after asking if we would also like yoghurt and muesli this was provided as well. We never went hungry and we could request what time we would like it. Breakfast was left outside the door on two trays on little tables for us to bring into the room which we then left outside once we had finished.
The television had a good selection of English speaking channels which was a bonus for us.
The location was great and gave a good insight into traditional Dutch lifestyle.
The host was very helpful with booking a restaurant for my husbands birthday and giving lots of helpful advice for us to explore the area particularly the tip for the park and ride in order to save over €25. There are plenty of leaflets and maps available. If you are coming from England it is an easy drive. We came over on the shuttle and just over 4 hours later we were at the accommodation.
What could be improved: For us the only downsides was the toilet down stairs and if you have any mobility issues getting in and out of one side of the bed may be a small problem. For us it was ok and the bed was comfortable.
Exceptional Fantastic place, I warmly recommend. Idyllic scenery, yet still close to the city centre. We used our car, it was 20 minutes drive. Very kind host, super helpful. We arrived very late in the night and she was there to welcome us. Apartment is very clean and comfortable. Two big comfortable beds. And very tasty breakfast, with fresh fruits every morning. I recommend it.
What could be improved: Nothing
Superb I really enjoyed the location, being surrounded by farmland and it made for a nice quiet getaway. The host Hansje was very accommodating and understanding when I missed my train and waited for me when I arrived later in the night.
What could be improved: I underestimated how far away it was from the city centre (if that's where you wanted to go) and the only option to really get there is to either Uber or, if you're confident enough, cycle into the city. Maybe I'll be brave enough to try cycling the next time I visit LOL!
Exceptional I have to say I booked this stay last minute and didn't know what to expect. So far, this stay has been the highlight of my European 5 country trip. The host was super friendly and the arrangements felt super private. They even provided 4 bikes for us to ride into Central Amsterdam or locally with the beautiful views and farm animals. Nights were quiet, and Hansje served us fresh fresh breakfast in her garden each morning at the time we chose. I highly recommend staying in the farmland when visiting Amsterdam if you have a car. If you don't have a car, the bikes are also an option once you are there.
Strongly recommended to anyone who wants to stay away from the hustle-bustle of the city. 1. The Host was welcoming & very supportive
2. The rooms were well maintained
3. All requirements were taken care of.
4. Picturesque location
Perfect location to get out of the hustle & bustle of Amsterdam & have a laid back Dutch experience Hansje provided a wonderful breakfast both mornings. The second morning was warm enough to enjoy breakfast in the garden & the experience was awesome. The property itself is about 3kms from the nearest tram station but Hansje graciously offered to drive us any time we wanted to go into town. She is a very friendly and accommodating host and I would not hesitate to recommend her B&B to friends and I hope to be able to return some day. Thank you so much Hansje, we really enjoyed our stay with you - you made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived❤️
