First Impressions
Walking up to Amsterdam Centre Harbour Apartments feels a bit different than checking into a traditional hotel β and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it interesting. These three-star apartments are scattered along Prins Hendrikkade, which means you’re literally living on one of Amsterdam‘s most historic waterfront streets. I mean, you can’t get much more central than this without sleeping in a canal boat.
Location & Getting Around
The thing about Prins Hendrikkade is that it runs right along the harbor, so you’re watching boats drift by while you figure out your day. Central Station is practically next door β I’m talking a two-minute walk β which makes everything ridiculously accessible. You know what really surprised me though? Despite being so close to the train station chaos, the street itself feels surprisingly residential once you settle in.
The Apartment Experience
Since these are actual apartments rather than hotel rooms, each one’s a bit different depending on which building you land in. The apartment I stayed in had this compact but functional kitchen setup β nothing fancy, but perfect for brewing morning coffee or heating up those excellent Dutch pastries from the bakery around the corner. The room felt more like crashing at a friend’s place than staying in tourist accommodation, which I actually preferred.
What Makes It Work
Here’s where things get practical β having your own space means you can live like a local instead of feeling like you’re camping out in Amsterdam. The apartments give you that independence to come and go without dealing with reception desk schedules or breakfast times. Plus, being right on the harbor means you’re watching the city wake up over the water, which beats staring at another hotel’s courtyard. The neighborhood has this perfect mix of tourists heading to Central Station and locals going about their daily business.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
What really works here is the balance β you get the freedom of an apartment rental with enough structure that you’re not completely on your own if something goes wrong. The location means you can walk to the Red Light District, Dam Square, or catch a tram to the museums without any real planning. And honestly, after spending days exploring Amsterdam’s narrow streets and crowded attractions, coming back to your own little space along the harbor feels pretty perfect. It’s not trying to be anything more than a solid, well-located place to base yourself in the city center.
Apartments in Amsterdam suit families with canal-facing windows, full kitchens, and sunset bike rides through De Pijp.

What Our Guests Say
For 2 nights it was fine Good location, easy walk to all canals, train station about 20 mins walk.
Apartment had everything needed in kitchenπ
What could be improved: A large mirror would be nice,, toilet near front door not great, could hear neighbours
Superb Spacious, not to far from centre, really clean, good shower, easy to check in, perfect for what we needed would stay again
What could be improved: Our only issue was the windows didn't open as we stayed on the sofa bed and the kids had the bedroom with air con. Not a massive issue really for the price everything was fine super clean bedding was all clean well equipped so windows opening isn't a huge issue
Amazing little apartment. Easy walk to local restaurants, cafes and local attractions. The science museum was a short wa Lovely property- high ceilings, plenty of space and great proximity to everything. We were able to walk everywhere.
What could be improved: The fold out bed was a little squeaky and there was no washing machine.
Very good Overall great property with all the required amenities and excellent location.
What could be improved: Mattress is too soft and I literally sunk on it. Had uncomfortable nights and back pain during my stay.
Contacted the support and they mentioned that nothing could be done.
Strongly recommend upgrading it as thatβs the only downside of the property but has a major impact on guests experience.
It was a great stay and Iβd recommend this apt to anyone visiting AMS. The location is a bit of a walk from the Centraal station but itβs still very central. We basically walked everywhere in Amsterdam.
The apartment is as advertised and more.. it was very spacious, clean, beds are very comfortable and the bedroom has AC (not many apartments have AC in Europe). They have a fully equipped kitchen with cleaning supplies, coffee pods, teas.
Overall, it was a great experience staying in this apartment.
What could be improved: The elevator broke down on the last 2 days we were in the apartment and they didnβt even know until I told them. We had to carry our suitcases down the very steep Amsterdam staircases. They said they want to get people to help us but didnβt end up sending anyone.
Superb Was a very spacious apartment, comfortable beds, great window view. Only a short 15 minute walk to the center
What could be improved: As a group of girls only having one small mirror in the bathroom wasn't the best
Great. Like the facts that they provide cooking oil n some salt n pepper for our convenience. Thanks. Location.
What could be improved: When I booked it show there is a laundry facilities. But thereβs none washing machine in the property. But we did see it outside of the apartment. I remembered reading the revirw citing the washing machine was not working. Perhaps the owner has not enough time to replace. Nevertheless we survive.
Lovely spacious apartment in great location near the station and walkable to main attractions. Great location and easy access, the lift was an added bonus as my friend was on crutches. The WhatsApp communication with Numa team was amazing and we were able to check in early. Thank you!
What could be improved: Sofa bed not the comfiest but made do! No complimentary water in the fridge and the safe was locked so we were unable to use it
Excellent fun filled catchup weekend for a group of women. The property is spacious for groups. Large lounge/dining room. 5 minute walk to nearest supermarket and a few bars.
What could be improved: Could do with a toaster. The curtain in the small bedroom could do with replacing as it lets in a lot of light and doesnβt fit that well, would be better to be replaced with a blind. This is not essential and didnβt spoil our stay just a small improvement advice.
Very good The strategic place of the apartment. And the view of my apartment is also nice. The heater works perfectly.
What could be improved: Broken elevator many times. There were times where it worked, and there were times where it also didnβt work. And my room needed to go down a few steps of stairs which was making it difficult for me to bring my luggage, especially large luggage.
