First Impressions
Walking up to Amstel Boutique Studio on Nieuwe Prinsengracht, you’ll notice it’s tucked into one of those classic Amsterdam canal house buildings that tourists spend all day photographing. The entrance feels more like stepping into someone’s stylish home than a hotel lobby — which, honestly, sets the tone perfectly for what this place is all about. It’s intimate, well-designed, and you can tell from the moment you walk in that someone actually cared about the details.
Location & Neighborhood
The location in Amsterdam City Centre is pretty much perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without the chaos of Dam Square. You’re a five-minute walk from the Amstel River, and I mean, the canal views from some angles are exactly what you came to Amsterdam for. The neighborhood has that authentic Amsterdam vibe — locals on bikes, corner cafés that aren’t tourist traps, and you can easily walk to the major museums or hop on a tram. The closest tram stop connects you to everything, but honestly, you’ll probably just want to walk everywhere.
The Studio Experience
This four-star spot bills itself as studio accommodations, and they’ve nailed the concept. Each room feels like a mini-apartment with enough space to actually live in, not just crash. The design leans modern but keeps some of those charming Dutch touches — exposed beams, large windows that let in amazing light. The kitchenette setup is more functional than I expected; you could actually prepare meals here if you wanted to skip restaurants for a night or two.
What Makes It Special
You know what impressed me most? The attention to comfort without trying too hard to be trendy. The beds are genuinely comfortable, the bathrooms are spacious by Amsterdam standards, and there’s proper storage space for your stuff. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out — they’ll point you toward the good local spots rather than just handing you a generic tourist map. Plus, the building stays quiet even though you’re right in the city center, which is honestly rare in Amsterdam.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.3 rating, guests consistently mention feeling like they’re staying in their own Amsterdam pied-à-terre rather than just another hotel room. The combination of space, location, and that boutique feel really works. It’s the kind of place where you can imagine extending your stay just because it feels so comfortable and well-situated. If you’re looking for something more personal than a chain hotel but with better amenities than most budget options, this hits that sweet spot perfectly.
Hotels in Amsterdam line historic canals, museum quarters, and buzzing neighborhoods filled with cozy cafés.

Spacious studio apartment in central Amsterdam Spacious one bedroom studio apartment in central Amsterdam. Full kitchen, snacks, and two beers were included. 20 minute walking distance to most attractions.

Great location
What could be improved: Nothing
Superb I love the ambience, quite and relaxing in front of canals..Its spacious and cozy, feels like home. The owner is very kindly and nice. Thank you
Exceptional Lovely quiet residential area. Close enough to attractions that we walked everywhere. Spacious apartment, handy little kitchen to make sandwiches.
Lovely stay with the family We had a nice stay at this lovely appartment ca 25 mins walk from central station in a quiet part of town. It has a little kitchenette, but unfortunately, the cooking hobs are not allowed to be used for legal reasons. Microwave, kettle, toaster, egg boiler, coffee pod machine (no complimentary pods) were all there. Comfortable beds and nice shower, so all good. A little milk, some coffee pods and a couple of biscuits would have been a nice touch as a welcome for an accommodation of this level.
Perfext stay near Amstel House was cosy and well decorated. The location was good. The heating system worked well, because it was very cold outside. The bathroom was big enough, spacious and clean. There is a good bakery couple of minutes walking.
Lovely little apartment on ground floor , everything you need for a short stay! Sofa bed is easy to use and plenty of ni Located on the ground floor right next to the canal, easy to walk anywhere! Clean, tidy and cozy
It was a good stay. I did feel secure, and it was very roomy unlike a lot of of the listings in Amsterdam. Being on the ground level was a real treat. The apartment is large and spacious, and the bathroom very pretty and trendy. The outer door lock was sometimes difficult to use, had to ask strangers a few times to help me unlock it. Maybe it needs a little oil. But it was great not having to climb stairs and the bathroom and living room were very roomy.
What could be improved: Since I was a solo traveler, I would’ve liked more interaction or help from the host. Who was unavailable most of the time. As a host myself back in my home country, I know how meaningful it is for visitors to be able to interact and get some guidance on transportation and insider tips on places to visit. A friendly welcome is always nice when you’re in a foreign land. Also listing stated a Nespresso machine and some snacks but the pods needing replenishing and I didn’t see any snacks. Happily there was a container of milk.
We would absolutely stay again. We actually extended our trip one night bc we loved it so much. The host was very nice a Great location. Cozy little place to stay for a family.
