First Impressions
Walking up to Adam Suites Hotel on Lindengracht, you might almost miss it — and that’s actually part of its charm. The entrance feels more like stepping into a stylish townhouse than a traditional hotel, which makes sense given its location in one of Amsterdam’s most authentic residential streets. The lobby is compact but thoughtfully designed, with that understated elegance you’d expect from a four-star property that doesn’t need to shout about itself.
The Neighborhood Feel
Here’s what I love about this spot: you’re genuinely in a neighborhood, not a tourist bubble. Lindengracht runs through the Jordaan district, and honestly, it’s where locals actually live and shop. There’s a Saturday market right on the street that’s been running for decades — I mean, you can grab fresh stroopwafels from your hotel window. The Anne Frank House is a five-minute walk, but so are tiny brown cafés where you’ll hear more Dutch than English.
The Suites Experience
The room I stayed in felt more like a mini-apartment than a hotel space, which is exactly what they’re going for with the “suites” concept. Each one has a proper seating area and enough space to actually unpack your suitcase — something you can’t always count on in Amsterdam’s typically cramped accommodations. The kitchenette isn’t just for show either; it’s got everything you need if you want to prepare a simple breakfast or store those Dutch cheeses you’ll inevitably buy at the market downstairs.
Practical Comforts
What surprised me was how quiet everything stays, even with the market and street life right outside. The windows are properly insulated, which isn’t always a given in these historic Amsterdam buildings. The staff runs a tight ship without being overly formal — they’ll give you actual neighborhood recommendations rather than just pointing you toward the obvious tourist spots. You know what else works well? The Wi-Fi is solid throughout, which matters when you’re trying to navigate those winding Jordaan streets or book museum tickets.
Why Guests Love It
This place hits that sweet spot between authentic Amsterdam living and hotel convenience. You’re not staying in some sterile business district or getting lost in a massive chain property. Instead, you’re on a real street where Amsterdam residents go about their daily lives, but with the comfort and service of a well-run hotel. The combination of space, location, and that neighborhood authenticity — especially at this price point — makes it feel like you’ve found something special rather than just booked a room for the night.

What Our Guests Say
Perfect on great location Very nice little hotel and friendly staff! Nice room.
Exceptional We loved staying at Adam Suites! The beds were very comfortable, and our room had big windows looking out over the street. Bikes were provided by the hotel, too. It was a pretty quiet neighborhood, but there were some popular local spots so there was a little noise in the evenings, but it didn't keep us up. On Saturday we woke up to a huge market on the street outside, it was great to walk through! The location in general was perfect-- super easy to walk or tram anywhere in the city. Right in the beautiful canal district but in a quieter area. Will definitely stay again next time we visit Amsterdam!
Awesome, loved it. Amazing location, posh decor, pro and friendly staff, free barista grade coffee and sodas, co-working lounge very convenient
What could be improved: Limited hours for front desk 9:30 to 5:30. A bit cumbersome to checkin because we arrived at 6 and the guesswork scrolling messages started.
Not their fault, but the street were close for public utility repair during our stay. Making it look bad and messy and not allowing Ubers to come to the doors
Good Location
What could be improved: Alarm went off at 10.30pm for half hour which woke building up - other than that- stay was nice thanks
Exceptional We absolutely loved our stay with Adams Suits. Staff was so friendly and helpful with recommendations and accommodations for my young son. The location was absolutely perfect and my husband loved that he was able to rent a bike to ride to his work conference.
What could be improved: They stated that they had coffee and a bar available in the lobby, but it wasn't clear what was available or cost/free? Other than that we loved our stay.
We had a lovely stay, the staff was very helpful and made delicious coffee for us There was a street market on the Sat Excellent location in Jordaan District. We walked everywhere. The hotel is lovely and quaint.
What could be improved: The room is tiny, but functional. The little step up to the bath area is tricky too.
Beautiful stay in a perfect location to explore Amsterdam Everything! Fantastic location close to canals and everything we wanted to visit .the reception staff was fantastic . The complimentary wine at the end of the day was a lovely addition . Fabulous restaurants in the street we were staying.
Very good Location
What could be improved: Construction of the street sidewalk that the city was doing--noise and fencing. Not the property's fault.
Beautiful hotel in great location Great location to explore Amsterdam, within walking distance of many attractions. Room was spacious, beautifully decorated and clean. Balcony was super cute. You also get unlimited teas, coffees and soft drinks at the bar downstairs. Many restaurants and cafes on the street. Overall had an amazing stay.
What could be improved: Nothing really…only thing I’d have liked is for housekeeping to have replenished the teas and water in the room everyday.
Very good The accommodation was well situated and walkable from Amsterdam Central Station. The room was very modern and clean and has aircon which unusually was very quiet during operation. The bed was very comfy.
The area where the hotel is located has, bars and restaurants close by and is a very nice neighbourhood. . A street market also fills the street on a Saturday.
What could be improved: Unfortunately we were on the top floor, which was reached by a further steep staircase after an elevator ride. The top of the staircase is particularly precarious, especially when the landing fire door is closed, as there is no handrail and very little room at the top of the stairs to negotiate opening of the door creating a safety risk? I should imagine the other rooms served by the elevator do not have the same problem..
Also street noise from bars and restaurants below could be an issue if you are a light sleeper.
