First Impressions
Walking up to Adam’s Suite on Fokke Simonszstraat, you immediately get that “I’m in the real Amsterdam” feeling. This four-star boutique property sits right in the thick of things — I mean, you’re literally in Amsterdam City Centre, surrounded by those classic narrow buildings and canals that make this city so special. The entrance has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream tourist hotel, which honestly made me feel like I’d discovered something locals might actually appreciate.
The Heart of Amsterdam
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re not just staying in Amsterdam, you’re staying where Amsterdam actually happens. The Jordaan district is a quick stroll away, and you can walk to the Anne Frank House or the Nine Streets shopping area without breaking a sweat. What really struck me was how couples seem to gravitate toward this spot (they rate the location 9.0, which honestly makes sense when you’re wandering these romantic canal-lined streets together). You know what’s great? You can grab morning coffee at a local café and feel like you belong in the neighborhood, not like you’re just passing through.
The Suite Experience
The room itself — well, it’s more of a suite, obviously — gives you that perfect balance of space and intimacy. I appreciated having a proper seating area where I could actually relax and plan the next day’s adventures, rather than being cramped on the bed with my laptop. The design feels contemporary but warm, and there’s enough storage space that you’re not living out of your suitcase the entire time. The windows let in plenty of natural light, which is something you really notice when you’re in a city where some hotels can feel a bit cave-like.
Neighborhood Vibes
What sets this place apart is how it connects you to authentic Amsterdam life. You’re close enough to the major sights that you won’t spend half your day on trams, but far enough from the tourist chaos that you can actually hear yourself think. I found myself ducking into local brown cafés (that’s what they call traditional pubs here) and stumbling across tiny galleries and vintage shops that definitely aren’t in any guidebook. The area has this lived-in quality — you’ll see locals walking their dogs and picking up groceries, which gives you a much richer sense of the city than staying near Central Station would.
Why Guests Love It
The location score of 9.2 isn’t just a number — it reflects how this place actually enhances your Amsterdam experience rather than just providing a bed for the night. You’re positioned perfectly for both the cultural highlights and the everyday rhythms of the city. Whether you want to wander the Rijksmuseum or just sit by a canal with a beer, everything feels accessible but not overwhelming. It’s the kind of spot where you might extend your stay just because leaving this particular corner of Amsterdam feels premature.

What Our Guests Say
Superb This place is lovely and in a wonderful location in Amsterdam. The host is excellent, great communication and very helpful.
Absolutely perfect for a weekend break. I would highly recommend. Location was perfect in the heart of the city. Perfect for site seeing yet quite for relaxing. Very clean and well maintained. The host couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful throughout our stay.
What could be improved: Nothing but you have to like stairs.
Very good What could be improved: Not to have a little refrigerator
Very good It was a cosy bedroom, clean and in a relevantly good location.
What could be improved: That there was no option for earlier drop off of the baggage.
It was very difficult to open the key locker. Fortunately, the host was in the building and assisted us very quickly.
Comfortable stay in a great location Large well-lit, airy room, great location, comfortable beds, quiet at night.
What could be improved: The stairs to the property were a little scary - more so with luggage. The shower pressure wasn't great.
Superb Great location, beautiful and lovely room 🥰
What could be improved: Planty of stairs 😅
Cute central apartment Nice clean and modern room .
What could be improved: The stairs to go up to apartment. Crazy going up and down with suitcases.
A very convenient location! The location is perfect for exploring centAmsterdam. Close to Metro, all types of restaurants and attractions.
What could be improved: There are 55 steps up to the suite, which were daunting the first time, but rather intriguing to experience life in Amsterdam’s homes.
Good lodging for nimble travelers who don’t carry too much luggage. Location near museums
Central location and cozy room The location of the apartment is very good and in a quiet street . There are many cafes and a metro station nearby. The house is very charming (especially the staircase :D). We recommend the room for 1-2 people who like to be quickly at the central places of Amsterdam.
What could be improved: The house has thin walls.
